Image source problem with Image:Anthony Horowitz.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Anthony Horowitz.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:46, 2 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 21:46, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TunnelsofBlood.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:TunnelsofBlood.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. University Musical Society

Thank you very much for being willing to help me. I am trying to create a page for the organization "University Musical Society." But am unable to do so, as you can see from the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_musical_society. "University Musical Society" is the full name of our organization (it goes by no other name). For more information (and to ensure the validity of my request) please check out our website at www.ums.org. Why am I unable to create a page for this organization? Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Thehelpfulone. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. I saw your message there, in fact Miszabot automatically put editors that are blocked in the blacklist, set to a duration that is (roughly, I never checked) twice the length of the block. This allows to double check edits by recently released users/IPs. Usually, the blacklist is for blocked IPs/Users, the greylist for users that have been reverted by an admin but since the greylist is not humanly updatable, Cluebot adds users to the blacklist too. I hope that helps :). -- lucasbfr talk 19:14, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some Friendly Advice

I noticed on your user page that you'd like to be an admin some day. I've seen editors being opposed for adminship because they had that joke "you have new messages" banner on their user/talk page. The reason was that it fools and confuses newbies and that's something admins should avoid. Just thought you'd want to know. --NeilN talkcontribs 23:11, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you reverted some edits at Haganah as vandalism. Please note that there is an ongoing dispute among various editors as to two versions of that page, and the edits you reverted appear to have been an attempt to fix some bias problems with one of those versions. See Talk:Haganah#Reverting between two versions for my comments on that version. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 14:09, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your comment on the Help desk discussion, i've actually mentioned on the project page that the help desk is getting too long, and that my browser is taking too long to load the page, but all i've received is a reply saying check my Connection speed from one of the users which has nothing to do with the question which i've put.

The Help desk really needs to be archived and the messages which have been responded or is older should be erased to make the page smaller. SKYNET X7000 (talk) 17:20, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why was my article about a Silt out marked for speedy deletion seconds after its creation? It said in the history that the change was made using TW so I think the script must have backfired. Wow. The Helpful One needs help. Never saw that coming. =P The list of colour hex keys are at Web safe colours. Green is 00 80 00, so <span style="color:#008000"> produces Merry Christmas!. So, your signature with the 008000 produces:

i.e. it works. I think "green" can only be used with <span style="color>. Hope this helps! NF24(radio me!) 12:04, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Message template

It's not confusing unless you visit my talk page. You don't come to my talk page unless you want to post to it or pick up pieces of some discussion thread. The only post you have made to my talk page or the talk page of any of the editors I am currently in a discussion with is on my talk page. And, none of the editors who made posts to my talk page since its installation ever complained.

It's not confusing if you have a sense humor. It does no damage, no harm, apart from probably making you lose a couple of seconds of time (not considering the time it takes to figure out what happened, that may vary from person to person). But, then may be you don't come to an editors talk page and suddenly start screaming if you have a sense of humor (the all cap thing was pretty rude as is).

It's not you who should be confused, as a little prank isn't that confusing at all. It's I who should be utterly baffled. Why did you have to come to my talk page to scream at me about a innocent prank? If there's an answer, please, post it to my talk page. By the way, I have removed it, too. Not because it was confusing, but because I don't want to attract unwarranted rudeness. Cheers. Aditya(talkcontribs) 04:53, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ;-)

Actually the possibilities for my status are listed at [1] (don't edit them, however, but feel free to update the status in future). Merry Christmas, Snowolf How can I help? 17:39, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username reports

Hey there.

Thanks for the reports, but I think you might be a little oversensitive on the username side:

Remember that we don't want to scare off the newbies— when a name is really borderline, but there are no contributions yet (or no unproductive ones) then we probably don't want to block per username unless really egregious. — Coren (talk) 18:22, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about misatributing Monosex to you. I was on a roll, I guess!  :-) — Coren (talk) 21:24, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Er, you're still doing this, with User:Ansarhussain and User:Ramamurty.buddhavarapu. Please familiarize yourself with the username policy, and pay attention to the overall idea of why certain names should be blocked. rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 07:09, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So we are allowed to erase our talk pages?

Including people like User:Miamitom with all his excessive vandalism warnings?

Interesting.

RE: helpme...

Thanks for your reply here. Though I am concerned why you reinstated comments I had blanked on my own talk page. Please read Wikipedia:User_page#Removal_of_comments.2C_warnings, there is the appropriate policy. Please take care not to disrupt someone's talk page in future. 124.197.7.160 (talk) 22:02, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aiko Tanaka article

Umm, I wasn't finished editing the article. And you tagged it for speedy deletion, and it was deleted. J3ff (talk) 11:02, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to create a better version of the article, please don't just tag it to be deleted. J3ff (talk) 11:05, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, jsut wonderign why you marked the page for deletion?

all i am tryign to do is make a page similer to this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_channels_on_Virgin_Television

but so people can edit what available on the service so people then can have somewher to link to if they have faults because there always problem that no one know what is meant ot be on —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewcrawford (talkcontribs) 12:38, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi The Helpful One,

It might look like I'm picking on you over there; hope you don't take umbrage at my additions to your notes. It takes a while to get the hang of the page, so just keep at it, and please don't take my additions/changes the wrong way. Glad you're there to help out. --barneca (talk) 14:04, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

May you not blindly revert one of my edits because a lot of kilobytes went from reverting one editor's inaccurate belief that Ratatouille (film) is more important than the actual subject of the food itself. Alientraveller (talk) 20:19, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Truvo

Could you confirm why Truvo redirects to University of Cambridge. Efforts to redirect to Internet Yellow Pages where Truvo is listed as the new name of World Directories have been refused by you.

I'm not vandalising Wiki!--Tonian (talk) 16:44, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tonian seems to be quite right. Splitting up an article isn't any sort of vandalism. Can you explain why you are doing things like this? It doesn't make much sense to me. You can leave a reply here or on my talk page, whichever is more convenient. Thanks in advance, Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:20, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that everything is ok now. I'm still confused, but that's no big deal. Sorry to have bothered you. Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:44, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging

Hi, Is there any reason you are tagging the PD images I've created for deletion. As they are PD the deletion template you are setting onto them doesn't apply.... Regan123 (talk) 16:41, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I didn't read the template properly. Happy New Year! The Helpful One (Talk) (Contributions) 16:42, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Navbox Images

Hi,

Can you provide me with the correct links where i can change my Navbox images, i've asked on the Help Desk and the link they provided wasn't what i expected. →Yun-Yuuzhan 14:21, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re-block justified and normative

The user returned to vandalism after a two week block. The user has a consistent history of vandalism and has not been blocked from creating a user name. There are certainly more than one level one warnings on the page. If an administrator feels that it is appropriate to shorten or undo the block, it may be changed. The user is free to challenge it. --Kukini hablame aqui 14:43, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Celtic Song

I must protest about my accurate updates to this page being mis-identified as vandalism, and automatically undone.

The page clearly states "As sung by Everton supporters" not "As recorded with sanitized lyrics" and while I can understand that perhaps some people could be offended (although having said that the word "Fuck" has its own Wikipedia entry) the fact remains that what the fans sing in this instance is

"We don't care what the red shite say, What the fuck do we care, 'Cause we only know that there's going to be a show, and the Everton boys are there!"

I have been attending Goodison Park regularly for over 40 years so I should know. It is not vandalism to accurately correct the page.

Best regards

has been reverted

I removed your speedy tag from Resiana Zelin. The article states the followig about her:

She won a bronze medal at the 1997 IBF World Championships in women's doubles with Eliza Nathanael.

This is clearly enough importance for the article not to be speedy deleted under CSD A7. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 16:26, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
