License tagging for Image:Machi.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Machi.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Deleted page "Dae Sung"[edit]

A page you created, or image you uploaded, Dae Sung, has been deleted in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets the one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable notability guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content; it will be deleted again and may be protected from re-creation. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article. If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CeHS 100s 200s.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:DSCN0691.JPG. The copy called Image:DSCN0691.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CeHS 100s 200s.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CeHS 100s 200s.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

July 2011[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Tachyon. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 01:32, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK, who are you? Or, who do you want to be? You're editing as Bopomofo, and your account is tied to User:Toastsauce, who's also made one edit today. If you were renamed, you should stick with the new name, or editors might think there's hanky-panky going on. I'm posting a copy of this on Toastsauce's page; please explain below. Drmies (talk) 02:29, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi, "Bopomofo" used to be my old username and then I had to it changed to the one that it is now. I am not the one making edits to the page Tachyon. Perhaps someone else has taken up that username. Is there any way to "unlink" the two users? And sorry, this is a question unrelated to this incident, but how can I delete a photo I once uploaded? Toastsauce (talk) 02:48, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • OK, we're on it. As for the photo, normally you can't. Which one is it, and why? Drmies (talk) 03:01, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
        • The photo I would like to delete is this one. The main reason is that I put my real name in the description when I uploaded it four years ago, and even though I edited the summary once, my name still remains in the file history. I realize that it was my decision in the first place, but now that I am older, I think it would be smarter for me to retain my online privacy. A second reason is that the picture is not even of good quality and doesn't particularly do much to enhance the reader's understanding of the article.

Drmies (talk) 00:03, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • How about it? Go to the discussion, and confirm what I said--it'll be gone in a couple of days, no doubt. Drmies (talk) 00:03, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
