June 2011[edit]

Thanks for contributing new article Sky Tree White. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. --DAJF (talk) 11:09, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Qriocity logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Qriocity logo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 04:38, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:New Tokyo National Olympic Stadium.jpg.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:New Tokyo National Olympic Stadium.jpg.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:20, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The file seems to have been replaced with another one uploaded on Commons. Apparently, this image happens to be non-copyrighted according to the uploader (User:ataku). However, the file's information is quite poor. The source is described as "Own work" and it was given a license C.C.3.0. So, it is quite uncertain whether the work is free or not. If it is confirmed that the work is truly free, then you can delete my fair-use upload. Thanks. --Tokyoship (talk) 08:31, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request permission to use your work[edit]

Hello,

I am a member of the Sister Cities Association in Cincinnati, OH US. Gifu-shi, Gifu-ken is our sister city in Japan.

We plan to put up flags from each of our sister cities and also a sign showing the country and the location of the city. I may be able to adapt your map of the prefectures of Japan for this, but I would like your permission to use it.

It would end up as a simple outline of Japan with a star or other symbol to show where Gifu-shi is.

You can reach me by email: steve@cincinnati-gifu.org

Thank you!
