notification of template substitution[edit]

Hi. I hope you are doing well. I am not sure if this has already been pointed out, or if it is intended that way. But the previous batch of talkpage messages of "admins without tools" had a little problem. The edit summary by bot was okay, but the header was "notification of template substitution". See you around :-) —usernamekiran • sign the guestbook(talk) 20:04, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, @Usernamekiran! TolBot Task 9 uses Template:GetMop/Notice to notify users on the list. The heading and the wording of the notification can be changed there. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 03:00, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
did it. —usernamekiran • sign the guestbook(talk) 07:51, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for pointing out that our picture didn't have the right copyright tag. I did some homework and added to the description that this logo was copyrighted non-free/fair use. Would this be enough to clear the concerns? here is the page of the file: File:Virtudesk logo.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ares-2021 (talkcontribs) 01:13, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ares-2021: Another user, Salavat, already added a fair use rationale here. Your edit to the file page here stated that the image is non-free and used under fair use, but this was already stated by the fair use rationale and the copyright tag. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 02:48, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see ok. Thanks for this. So, there is nothing more I need to do? Ares-2021 (talk) 18:26, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ares-2021: No problem! The fair use rationale is taken care of; there's nothing more you need to do. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 20:00, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Typo[edit]

Hello. Over on User_talk:Paul_Arthur_Dooley, you said "if reliable sources have supported a claim, it shouldn't be included in Wikipedia, ..." I believe that is the opposite of what you neant. 73.127.147.187 (talk) 06:11, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Clarified; thank you for catching that! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 20:42, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Change username request[edit]

I already requested the change of username, I made it clear that "WikiTedia" was my first username but with a hyphen (Wiki-Tedia). This time I want it without hyphen. Wiki-Tedia2 (talk) 03:50, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My first username in my first account which I can't access anymore. Wiki-Tedia2 (talk) 03:51, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

es:Usuario:Wiki-Tedia Wiki-Tedia2 (talk) 03:52, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

On Wikipedia in Spanish I had no problem changing my username. es:Usuario:WikiTedia Wiki-Tedia2 (talk) 03:54, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Wiki-Tedia2: You did not change your username in either English or Spanish Wikipedia. You moved your user page, which can make it look like you changed your username, but doesn't actually change your username. Look at the history of your Spanish Wikipedia userpage; all of your edits are by "Wiki-Tedia2". Because your username and user page name are not the same, it makes some tasks confusing. I'm pinging Cabayi, a renamer, who can take a look at your rename request. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 04:12, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'll be waiting for you pinging "Cabayi"... Wiki-Tedia2 (talk) 19:01, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from WirmerFlagge (21:27, 19 January 2022)[edit]

has my user/editor account been blocked? i haven't even had a chance to do anything. some minor disagreements in the talk sections. but barely "disagreements." why is this happening? i hope it's a mistake. i joined because there has been so much talk recently among the population at large about wikipedia's bias issues and lack of scholarly integrity due to these issues, and i thought i could help by drawing editors' attention to issues they might perceive as copacetic but do in fact detract from wikipedia's credibility. i certainly have not gone on a rampage or gotten into edit wars etc. please advise. --WirmerFlagge (talk) 21:27, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @WirmerFlagge. Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Your account has not been blocked. (If it were, you wouldn't be able to make any edits.) It looks like you're referring to a discussion on your talk page. I'd recommend listening to Doug Weller's advice — he knows what he's doing, and I agree with him that replying to old talk page posts is generally not constructive. Please let me know if you still have any questions. Sincerely, Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:30, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Uvariopsis dicaprio[edit]

On 26 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Uvariopsis dicaprio, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Uvariopsis dicaprio was the first new plant species described in 2022? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Uvariopsis dicaprio. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Uvariopsis dicaprio), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question from Tuca1861 (09:01, 26 January 2022)[edit]

Hello sir, i have created a page Draft:Tagore University of Creative Arts

I want to publish it, how can i do that? thanks --Tuca1861 (talk) 09:01, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Tuca1861: I don't think the draft is ready to be published. It has no references, so none of the information it contains is shown to be verifiable. Can you insert some references to show that the draft's statements are verifiable by reliable sources? Help:Referencing for beginners has some information on this. Thanks, @Usafrt! Let me know if you have any questions about Wikipedia. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 05:10, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I don't want to criticize, but the change you made in the Wikipedia page for the List of Presidents of the United States is kind of, wanky to say at least. I'm only one guy, but in my opinion, the previous look for that page was better, to be honest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LoverOfAllThatIsRockefeller (talkcontribs) 03:39, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @LoverOfAllThatIsRockefeller, and welcome to Wikipedia! I recently made two changes to that page. As I mentioned in the edits' summaries, the edits were based on the consensus found at the recently-concluded request for comment. The first changed the order of the columns; the second made the table sortable. Which of the edits do you dislike? Tol (talk | contribs) @ 03:45, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again @Tol, and thanks for responding. The edit that I disliked was the order of columns. Originally, the dates for the length of the terms was at the left side of the list, but now it's located at the center, which, in my opinion, looks a bit "off" and weird. Again, I'm only one guy, but I liked the way the column looked before, at least where the term dates where located, so I'd like it if it was returned to that. Thank you for responding, I appreciate it. @LoverOfAllThatIsRockefeller @ 02:06, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@LoverOfAllThatIsRockefeller: No problem! You can see the discussion that led to that change here (permalink). Like I said, the edits were based on the consensus found at a request for comment, so I can't revert one of them for you. If you have a specific proposal, such as to move the term column to before the portrait, you can open a discussion on the talk page; if consensus among editors is for the change, it will be implemented. On another note, you can sign your posts by adding four tildes (~~~~) to the end of your post. You can also enable discussion tools here (scroll down to "discussion tools" and tick the box), which will add "reply" links to the end of comments and sign your replies for you.
