Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (also known as AVP: R), originally known as 'Alien vs. Predator: Survival of the Fittest' is the upcoming sequel to 2004's Alien vs. Predator film. Filming began on September 25, 2006 in Vancouver with Tom Woodruff, Jr. and Alec Gillis from Amalgamated Dynamics handling the special effects (as they did for the previous installment) and Daniel Pearl as director of photography. The Brothers Strause (Colin and Greg Strause) have directed the movie[4] from a script by Shane Salerno.[5] Actors Steven Pasquale and Reiko Aylesworth will play leading roles in the film,[6]

Unlike the PG-13 rating of the original, the film is rated R for violence, gore, and language.[7]

A game has also recently been announced for the Sony PSP.[8] The game will center on the lone Predator cleaning up the mess left by a crashed ship.[9] It has not been confirmed whether this will be part of the plot for the movie.

Cast

Creatures

Images have surfaced showing that both creatures have gone through design changes since Paul W. S. Anderson directed the original Alien vs. Predator[10]. These include a return to the ridged-headed aliens last seen in Aliens [1] and a slimmer, more athletic Predator as seen in Predator and Predator 2[11].

It is also rumored that the Predator variant of the Alien, the Predalien, will appear in the film, after being set up prior in Paul Anderson's Alien vs. Predator.[12] The inclusion of the Predalien was confirmed when IGN released an image showing the Predator and the Predalien fighting.[13]
