Mattheus de Andrade Gama de Oliveira, or simply Mattheus (born 7 July 1994) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. He is under contract with Portuguese club Sporting CP, but play on loan from Coritiba.[1]
Mattheus is the son of former Brazilian player Bebeto, and became widely known just days after his birth due to his father's 'cradle-rocking' celebration on scoring a crucial goal against the Netherlands in the 1994 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals.[2]
Career
Flamengo
Mattheus debuted for Flamengo on 3 February 2012 playing as substitute on a Campeonato Carioca match against Olaria.[3]
Estoril (loan)
On 30 January 2015, Mattheus was loaned to Estoril.[4]
Sporting
In May 2017, it was announced that Mattheus was purchased from Estoril for £3.5 million by Sporting Clube de Portugal.
