The COP usually exceeds 1 for refrigerators and heat pumps, but no heat engine can have a thermal efficiency of 100% or greater. This article could be improved, especially by someone with a degree in thermodynamics (and I don't have one). The net work, or efficiency of a refrigerator, should not be confused with coefficient of performance. undo
