Any reference to a barony should really be in the historical section. If I was to open the Petoria wiki I wouldn't be told it is located in Transvaal. I would see that any reference to Transvaal is in the History section. A Barony is an outdated term that was used by a foreign occupying power. Otherwise, while (per Barony_(Ireland)#Modern_existence) the concept of the barony has less relevance today, there is plenty of precedent and convention for listing historical baronies in the lead of these types of articles. It has no relevancy in the 21st century. It was a sub division brought about by the occupation of a foreign power. To give context. If I were to look up Prague in Wikipedia I do not see reference to Czechoslovakia. It tells us that Prague is in the Czech Republic. The Raqqqa page does not immediately tell us that it is in the Islamic State. The Prague and Raqqa examples show what is relevant to today.
