Quinn or O'Quinn is a surname of Irish origin. It comes from the original and Irish name Ó Cuinn, ie descendants of Conn. It means wisdom or chief. The name was first used in the Kingdom of Thomand in the 16th century.[citation needed] It is Ireland's 19th most numerous surname, 255th in England and Wales, and 402nd in the United States.[citation needed]
