This is the central page for the Great Lakes region of the Wikipedia Ambassador Program. We cover the states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Goals

Short-term, Regional ambassadors

Short-term, Campus ambassadors

  • Hook at least one professor in your area and help him or her design a successful plan of action.
  • Make sure you have enough campus ambassadors for all the classes in your area. Ideally, a class should have two ambassadors, and every ambassador should be working with at least one class.
  • Encourage the most socially and technologically competent individuals in your current and former classes to become campus ambassadors; have them contact Chanitra or Rob.

Short-term, All ambassadors

  • Double our operations this semester from 6 classes to 12 classes.

Regional Ambassadors

Ambassador Name Description/Profile Coverage
etlib I am the Instruction & Emerging Technologies Librarian at Indiana University Bloomington. I have never edited wikipedia but I have used the MediaWiki software to edit wiki page. Northern to central Illinois, northern to central Indiana, Ohio
Bob the WikipediaN I'm an alumnus of the University of Southern Indiana. I've been an editor of Wikipedia since 2006, an administrator since 2009, and now a co-ambassador (along with Chanitra) for the Great Lakes region, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. My area of expertise is applied computer science and computer information systems, but I'm also a backyard arachnologist/entomologist, a swivel chair paleobiologist, and a professional violinist.
