Welcome message
Well, thanks for the thought, but you're a little (a year) late. :p Blast 21.03.07 1244 (UTC)
My userpage
Thank you for the revert. Xiner (talk, email) 16:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Welcome Back!
Great to see you're back, zero! Don't leave us soon :) — anthony[cfc] 22:45, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
reverting vandalism
Whether I warn vandals often depends on the exact kind of vandalism. The more childish the edit (writing a fun paragraph -> blanking -> poop), the more likely I decide that it's probably not worth the while to warn them, as it seems to me like a form of feeding the trolls. But I admit that sometimes I'm just too lazy to do it. I'll keep your suggestion in mind. —KNcyu38 (talk • contribs) 02:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Just wanted to add that now that I have finally discovered WP:TW, my warning percentage may increase significantly. I basically never left warnings from VP, instead changed to firefox for that. Tedious, but no more. Regards, —KNcyu38 (talk • contribs) 01:53, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Moving
I still don't get what you want me to do. I have moved all those pages for you, and they retain the old history. =Nichalp «Talk»= 13:58, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Re: Comment from User:Z.E.R.O.
Your vandal fighting skills have surpassed by users Curps and Omicronpersei8. I consider nominating you for admin in a few months. zero » 00:11, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- You are the second person to say that in four hours. Please, at least take the trouble to read the rest of my talk page before saying such a thing – if not the archives, where there are several such requests. Each one of them is going to get the same answer: No, I do not want to be an administrator. Comparing me to two users who left months ago also demonstrates little and if anything is insulting to them. Thanks – Qxz 19:37, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Warning?!
March 2007
Hello, {{BASEPAGENAME}}! Thank you for reverting vandalism to Wikipedia. After you revert, I would recommend also warning the users whose edits you revert on their talk pages with an appropriate template or custom message. This will serve to direct new users towards the sandbox, educate them about Wikipedia, and a stern warning to a vandal may prevent him or her from vandalizing again. Thanks! zero » 03:30, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- I know :) - as you may be aware, one somtimes doesn't have the time to apply the appropriate warning, especially when (as is often the case for me) you spot a bit of vandlaism on your watchlist just before you go out! Can I ask exactly which edit you were referring to? I have, as you may know, knowlegde of the appropriate warning guidelines, but sometimes it can be impractical to follow them, though I do try to adhere. The thing is - the only vandalism I have recently reverted is to MartinBot's user page, and I tend to block when that occurs (personal attacks). When I'm actively on RCPatrol, I always warn religiously, however if I'm making a casual revert, it's often difficult (in any case, admins should look through the user's contribs before blocking - not just the vandalism warnings (from experience)). I really don't want to be one of those who comlains about this sort of thing, but I admit to having felt slightly affronted by a message given to new users appearing on my talk page, while a short, personal notice would have sufficed. I have demonstrated in the past that I know the policy! Martinp23 22:12, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Anyway, if I started rambling, the moral is - "avoid slapping templates on the talk pages of established users/admins" :) Martinp23 22:13, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Re: similar account...
...is this you? zero » 00:33, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- No, it's not me. And since it was created over a year ago and has fewer than 50 edits, I also fail to see how it is "similar" in anything but name. I also find this an assumption of bad faith on your part; by that logic, I could accuse you of being a sockpuppet of User:Zero R – Qxz 00:45, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, no; I have changed my username from Meteoroid to Z.E.R.O. at Wikipedia:Changing username and I have been using this username for only 10 days. I do not know if is acceptable to change usernames more than 3 times. zero » 00:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- You can change usernames as many times as you wish (at least, if a bureaucrat approves the change; I imagine they'd begin to get annoyed if you requested them too often). Thanks – Qxz 00:56, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Sockpuppet
Sorry but it is not mine. I only have one and will only ever have one. Big Boss 0 02:56, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
It is a sockpuppet of User:Ockenbock. -- The Hybrid 03:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Do what you have to do; I'm not an admin. Just talk to Metros232 about it first, as he is the admin who has to deal with this guy almost daily. -- The Hybrid 04:06, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
BTW, I agree. -- The Hybrid 04:16, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Sock?
Care to explain how 210.213.104.74 (talk · contribs) is a sock of anyone based on his one edit to Sound Connections? Metros232 03:40, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- please look here. it is an abusive sockpuppet of Jigs41793 zero » 03:42, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- All you've proven with that link is that the IP address is from the Phillippines. Many people live there. I hardly think that the edit of that IP proves that it is Jigs41793 AND that it is abusive. Metros232 03:44, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Tip on warnings
Don't bother issuing multiple "last warnings" to vandals. It just provokes them and they have fun pissing you off. Just report it quietly to WP:AIV and keep on reverting them until they're blocked. Thanks. -- Netsnipe ► 16:33, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
My userpage
Thanks. I've been putting it off because...who knows why, but thanks. Xiner (talk, email) 01:39, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Requested edit
When you request an edit, please do not replace the {{permprot}} with {{editprotected}}. Instead, you should put {{editprotected}} in a new section with your request. Cbrown1023 talk 16:54, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
