Seiretto removed?

Hi Lucas,

Seiretto has been deleted by you: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/delete&page=Seiretto

Please can you replace this. I am not sure of your reasons as Seiretto has notability:

We maybe a very small company but "just as individuals can be notable, and arbitrary standards should not be used to create a bias favoring larger organizations." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:CORP

Seiretto is over 10 years old (you were only ten when it was formed) - having survived as an Internet company during the difficult boom and bust periods of the late 1990 and early 2000. This proves our long history: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.seiretto.com Which is a great deal longer than wikipedia: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.wikipedia.org

Hi, I originally prodded this page as it was probably created by mistake, kinda stupid, I should have come to you directly. Anyway, you should perhaps consider putting a redirection to User:UBX and protect the page to prevent more userboxes to be created there by someone not filling the form. -- lucasbfr talk 08:57, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin Norton

Can you please put back my article on "Kevin Norton" - I have a written permission from Mr. Norton that allows me to use any text that was published on his website. - Or you're welcome to write yourself an article on this very prestigious composer. - esola, Germany

KJACK ARTICLE!

Hi there,

You helped to erroneously delete an article that I authored. KJACK. The user user:Kjack1680 who began the deletion process is not a regular user of wikipedia and apparently suggested the article for deletion for personal reasons. That article was created as a historical account of an ACTUAL and functioning radio station that I helped to start. I have been doing MASSIVE amounts of work on the article and it is now all gone. Please help me to get the article back on or at least get the content back so that I may do what I need to get it back up in the future.

Thanks for your reply. I guess my concern now becomes how to prove this article notable and how to source it. Before creating any content on the article, I researched several other college radio stations and tried to emulate many of those. The station was something that I helped to start and is an integral part of the Northern Arizona University School of Communications. I am no longer a student there nor am I involved directly with the station. I have been gathering content from fellow graduates who worked at the station as well as faculty that were involved. How can I go about proving notability and citing sources that are largely first-hand account? If you could post the article to my user page so that I may back up the entry locally on my machine while I try to get my questions answered I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for all your help and speedy reply. Also thanks for your understanding. Joshuah Hounshell 08:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like he struck again. Can we really ban him now? He has exhausted my patience and, I think, some other users. Arbiteroftruth 01:25, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you know a bit of German. Do me a favor and take a look at this article. From my rudimentary knowledge of the language, it appears this is a straight translation of http://www.itaggroup.com/fileadmin/remaco/Information/Nr_118_TNLCDs.pdf and therefore a derivative work and a copyvio. I have it marked as such on WP:SCV. Thanks! --Butseriouslyfolks 06:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: warnings removal on talk pages

Thanks for your message on my talk page with respect to this topic. I was sort of expecting/dreading such a message, but am actually impressed that someone on Wikipedia noticed my edits to User talk:Garric and corrected me since I had a feeling I had made a mistake in terms of my warning to that user. I now understand the current consensus on this issue, and I think my question here demonstrates my previous confusion. After leaving a warning-type message on Garric's talk page I checked the guidelines re: talk page deletions (which is something I had never actually read about before) and realized I was probably in error in this respect, though I was surprised by this since it seemed like deletions of warnings on your own talk page was something I had seen warnings for in the past (I actually thought there was a template for it, and figured I just could not track it down).

I'll look through the crazy long discussion on this topic at some point, but do you think it's possible to have more clear guidelines on this? To a well-meaning (but relatively new) user like myself who does RC Patrol sometimes, a guideline like the following at WP:USER ("Policy does not prohibit users from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user. Deleted warnings can still be found in the page history") seems a bit ambiguous and also is not highlighted that prominently (I had never seen it before, though I probably should have). On RC Patrol it's easy to assume that deleting warning messages on your own talk page is inappropriate, so the fact that this is not the case should perhaps be more emphasized. If you have an idea about how to do this I would work on it. You can let me know here or on my talk page.

At any rate, I'm sorry for the improper edits I made to Garric's talk page.

PS--On a humorous personal note (which I add after I looked at your user page) my girlfriend/partner is half-French and has French citizenship (on her mother's side), thus I am one of those rare Americans who actually does not mind being corrected by a Frenchman! Unfortunately we are an increasingly rare breed.  :) --Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 09:08, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

My Name is Bill Nissim and I posted "Virtual Worlds: The Next Realm in Advertising?" I am the author and hold the copyright exclusively.

I posted my article, but it seems that it was rejected because someone re-printed my article on the web. Also, I have several articles dating back to 2003 that I'l like to post and have been published on the web over the years. How to I post to Wikipedia without running into this same problem?

Thanks for you help.

templates

Thank you very much for your help. Curious problem since I saved them successfully at least once, and the page rendered as expected at that point. The problem came up when at one point I decided to swap the code for two templates, and the code for {{Sumo basho award}} is currently sitting in User:Csernica/Sandbox/Sumo/Sansho which I can get to just fine -- or was able to get to just fine; it has a problem now too. This makes me thing the trouble has to do with referencing templates that don't currently exist, or end up with an infinite recursive loop. That's a problem I hadn't considered would arise, but I think that must be it. TCC (talk) (contribs) 23:05, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That appears to have been it. Saving them in the correct order had good results. I really should have thought of the edit link on my own, so I'm sorry to have troubled you with this. TCC (talk) (contribs) 23:11, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Switch Access Scanning

I can also send an email notifying Wikipedia that they can take articles from my website right. This has to be done by sending an email to a specific address and from the axistive.com domain. Maybe that is just as easy. Since I own Axistive and can do whatever I want with my own content right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Axistive (talkcontribs)

It seems a slow proces getting the permissions arranged. The permissions email is just sending the standard license talk you explained me already. I cannot authorize the use of content by email withou this license everone is talking about. Sorry delete the article I will contribute with unique content not reuse my own. Thanx for the help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Axistive (talkcontribs)

Sunfitters Beach Shop

Hello Lucas. You deleted the page wiki/Sunfitters_Beach_Shop. I would ask you to restore the page please. Using the reasons you stated for deleting Sunfitters' page, will you also purge half the companies under Category:Online_retail_companies_of_the_United_States? Would you remove the companies listed under Category:Companies_based_in_Massachusetts? Would you delete virtually the entire list under Category:Companies_established_in_2006?

Sunfitters is something unique. It is creating a whole new retail category called the Beach Shop. Unlike surf shops who provide items to active sports enthusiasts, Sunfitters caters to North American adults 25-45 years of age who are traveling to a beach destination. I say respectfully that you, Lucas, are not among this market. You are not living in North America and you are not 25-45 years of age.

Please restore the page you deleted on May 23: namely, wiki/Sunfitters_Beach_Shop

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Modestmerchant (talkcontribs)

PRODs

Hello. I noticed that you were deleting prods today that hadn't yet reached 5 days. I doubt that the results would have been any different for most or them, but it is possible that someone may have removed the tag and made a valid case for keeping the article on the 5th day. I certainly wouldn't undelete any of them, but in the future, you might just want to wait a bit longer before you delete them. The template has recently been changed so that the text at the top turns red when the 5 days are past, so I make it a habit to not delete any until I see that. Best regards. --After Midnight 0001 02:12, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I will like to know why emerging entertainment was deleted..and so for the link to it is deleted as well. If there is any violation, could you give any comments or guide as this is the first time using wiki. Isnt wiki suppose to be reference

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.120.68.75 (talkcontribs)

Shared IP, replying here
Hi, Emerging Entertainment has been deleted, 3 times, because it was an article about a company that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject, then because it was an advertisement for the subject and a copyright violation of the company website. We have certain criteria companies need to meet to be included in Wikipedia. I invite you to read them. The article creation has been disabled after the 3rd deletion in a row. If you can show me why this company meets our inclusion criteria, I am willing to reconsider of course :). -- lucasbfr talk 11:24, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want to break GFDL by erasing the history, so maybe we should undelete the article, and then I'll clean it up. What do you think? Jehochman Talk 18:55, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've cleaned up the article User:Jehochman/Dynamic Submission. Do you want to have a look at it and see if it should be copied back into mainspace? The owners of the software probably won't be too happy with this version, but I think it's fair and NPOV. One challenge is that some of the references are old paper, so there's no easy way to check them. Notability is marginal at best. Jehochman Talk 09:17, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you had put up the AfD template, following the removal of the CSD template from this page. However, the AfD that the template links to is for Brianna Rieffel, not the song. I'm just wondering if you were planning to take action dependent on that AfD decision, or if you had misidentified the singer's AfD from the Song article (which isn't the same, nor is the song nommed in that Afd AFAICT.) Sorry for being a Wikidork (I think both are NN), just don't want to see any of the work undone on a DRV process appeal. LaughingVulcan 18:56, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, Snap! Sorry for being an incorrect Wikidork as well - just reread the top of the AfD and saw that you had included the songs, even if they weren't listed by name in the AfD. (Nevermind, nothing to see here...) LaughingVulcan 19:01, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eagle Talon

Hello, a friend of mine suggested you to help me. I have been involved in a dispute on the Eagle Talon page, where a user called User:Spoolintsi added images of a heavilly modified facelifted Talon. Now, images of highly modified cars are obviously not allowed, since they would fail in being discriptive of the details of the car. Anyways, me and User:IFCAR, a friend of mine, reverted his edits a few times. So he took to creating a sockpuppet called User:MikeTSIawd, and continued edit warring. I thought that since the accounts were new, I got the page just semi protected. But, the original account got around it, and continued to edit war. They also took to trolling on the talk page, talking about how teh current images disgrace the car. All that aside, Checkuser confirmed that MikeTSIawd is a sockpuppet of Spoolintsi, and all my work to get this taken care of through the systems has gotten nowhere. I can tell from their contributions that they all they done is edit war on the Talon page, and that is all they will continue to do. Pretty much, I am hoping that you will able to do something to end this, so I will not have so sit forever with the page protected, so this petty dispute can be ended before it gets out of hand. Karrmann 01:56, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, it's simply a template I created. You can find it at User:Lucasbfr/s. Feel free to copy and adapt the source (its usage is {{subst:User:Lucasbfr/s|1=diff of the reply|subst=subst:}}). Additionnaly, I'm using a javascript tool that prompts me for the diff and fills in the rest. I hope that helps! -- lucasbfr talk 13:08, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
