Genevieve Gaunt (born January 13, 1991) is an English actress, perhaps best known for her role in the Harry Potter films as Pansy Parkinson.

Biography

Early life

Genevieve Gaunt, nicknamed Gigi, was born in Holland to Fiona Gaunt and Frederik de Groot, both Dutch actors. The family later moved to London, England where Genevieve resides now. She has also lived in Scotland and the Netherlands. She has an older brother, Wilhelm, who was born in 1989. She currently attends the Godolphin and Latymer School in London.

Career

Gigi originated the role of Pansy Parkinson in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, where she was featured in a few scenes with Draco Malfoy's gang of troublemaking Slytherins. Gigi was a glorified extra, only speaking once in the film. Her one line came in the Great Hall scene after Draco is attacked by Buckbeak the hippogriff. She can be heard saying "Does it hurt terribly Draco?" as the camera swings past. She did not reprise the Pansy role for the following movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire , and was later on replaced by Lauren Shotton in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Genevieve no longer acts in movies, and has returned to school where she is working on her GCSE's. She is graduating in 2009.
