I am an administrator here on Wikipedia (RfA). As an editor, I am a generalist. I like to try to improve articles for readability and style – sometimes called wikignoming. I also revert any vandalism I find. This means that my user and talk pages have been vandalized many times, and that I have some admirers. [1], [2]

Although I contribute to a variety of article types, I am a member of the following Wikiprojects: Aircraft, Anatomy, Aviation, Aviation accident task force, Medicine, and Molecular and Cellular Biology. I helped create Wikipedia:WikiProject Short article clean-up.

Why "Flyguy649"? Although I have an interest in aviation, "Fly" refers to the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. I am a researcher using the fruit fly as a model system to study mechanisms of intracellular transport. I am a guy. And the 649 is a number to distinguish me from the multitude of other Flyguys out there. Truth be told, it's the size (in amino acids) of a protein I am studying. Yes, a bit geeky.
