The Technological Institute of the Philippines or "TIP" is a private institution of higher learning in the Philippines which is known in the fields of engineering. TIP was established by a group of educators headed by Engr. Demetrio A. Quirino Jr. in February 8, 1962. TIP has two campuses in the Metropolitan Manila, TIP Manila and TIP Quezon City.
History
- 1967 - Set-up its main site at 888 G. Puyat St., Quiapo, Manila.
- 1977 - Offered a two-year associate course in Marine Engineering.
- 1980 - Liberal Arts and High School programs were phased out to make way for the school's new thrust.
- 1981 - Additional buildings were leased to accommodate the student population which already exceeded 23,000.
- 1983 - Opened the Quezon City campus located at 20th Avenue, Cubao.
- 1997 - Six-storey Founder's Hall was inaugurated on February 5 in TIP Casal, Manila.
Location
The Main Campus of Technological Institute of the Philippines is located in Quiapo, Manila. Near the area is its extension campus, called TIP Arlegui Campus.
TIP QC is located in Cubao, Quezon City near Araneta Center.
