The reason I suggested SteveBurch to Steve Burch is that usurping a name might be more confusing for a new user than renaming. However, it seems it doesn't matter in this case because the user created Steve Burch anyway. Thanks for the note, however. Acalamari 18:43, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

I have no problem at all with your suggestion. I definitely appreciate you letting me know, but you didn't have to. I'm new and far from perfect. <b>Jauerback</b>dude?/dude. 18:25, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

If you're here, and you're confused, it's because I changed my username. I was formerly known as Che Nuevara.

Welcome to my Talk Page!

Feel free to leave your questions, comments, or anything else below. You can do so by clicking this link! Please sign your comments with ~~~~.

This talk page is intended to be a safe, constructive space. Anyone is welcome to share his or her thoughts or opinions here. Personal attacks and incivility are unwelcome here.

So please, leave a message or anything else here. I will always try to respond to your messages (excepting brief acknowledgments and the like which are simply responses to mine), and I will answer on your talk page, unless the thread on my page contains more than one user. In the case that I respond on your page, I will usually copy over your comment to preserve cohesion.

Note that this talk page is bilingual. I will be happy to take questions and comments and German, and will respond in German, if you are more comfortable communicating that way. I reserve the right, however, to translate the message for others' convenience.

Re: Trigun

I will be the first to admit that I know nothing about anime, so all I can go by is the article. This seems to very clearly indicate that it is a sci-fi western, and not a "space" western, per se. Of course, as you say, there is no reason, necessarily, that it cannot be both. I will defer to your knowledge and opinion on this matter, though. Do what you think is best. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 22:53, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, I did not think you were second-guessing me. I simply wanted to admit that I know so little about anime that I know I could be wrong. And you are correct that it keeps popping up on the list, time and again, and being removed. From everything that I can see, it would seem to fall into the sci-fi western category much better than space western. The article says "space western" and "sci-fi western," but I think that is more a result of someone misunderstanding the meaning. I really do not see it as a space western. Cheers! ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 00:50, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I wanted to let you know that I started a discussion over at Talk:Space Western about Trigun, so that we can finally have the matter settled. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 15:55, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gligan

I sorry, but that Romanian nationalist is going on with the vandalism, this time for the city of Ruse. I reverted his edit only once and now I am writing to you to take measures and avoid another edit war like that in Vidin. Regards, --Gligan (talk) 15:35, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He is obviously not here now but still, please keep an eye on that article and tell me whether I shall revert possible future vandalism myself or I shall wait for you or someone else to do that. Of course I can start discussion on that matter on Talk:Ruse. --Gligan (talk) 17:06, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just see what is he doing. He does not state reasons for his edits and is constantly pushing them. See Talk:Ruse and tell him to stop. --Gligan (talk) 17:49, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would you like to unblock?

The user in question has only one edit, a vandalism edit. They wiped out part of a user page. Do you want to give them a 2nd chance? If so, go ahead. I have seen other admin block indef for users with only 1 or 2 edits, all of them unmistakable vandalism. Archtransit (talk) 18:04, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfB

It's been reverted, but I informed the individual I nominated... anyhow, thanks for the notice! --Solumeiras (talk) 23:42, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:RfA

Thanks for your message. I expected a rough ride but all this brou-ha-ha is completely off the wall. I guess I have an instinct for when things aren't quite right, and fortunately, I was right (for once); otherwise, exit, stage left, with egg on face. I guess your next nom will be an easier ride. For now, I'm going to sit back and see what happens next, and it's good that colleagues are still coming forward to support me while all this is ongoing. Again, thanks for your support. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 20:24, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, purrr-lease, I am not awesome, I just believe in following the process, being above-board and accountable. If this RfA succeeds, however, I'm fully conscious that there may be a backlash from those who would imagine that I might consider myself fireproof. No way. I could have done all this through email, and I considered that, but my candidate statement covers my reasoning on that. After all this is over and done, I just want to get back to writing articles. That's why I came here. Much kudos for your continued support, and thanks again. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 22:24, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think Dramaticaddict18923 gets my vote as oddest edit of the day. Well handled, btw. KillerChihuahua?!? 00:30, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:ADMINCOACH

Hey, hey, hey. Maybe there's some steps I gotta take before getting an adco, but I'm not sure. Point is, newcomers aren't the only ones people shouldn't bite. Got it? Two One Six Five Five discuss my greatness 19:04, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RFA

Revolving Bugbear, Thank you for your support in my RFA which passed 43/0/1. I would like to especially thank Bibliomaniac15 for being my nominator and admin coach. I would also like to thank Rudget for being my co-nominator. I'm sure that I can live up to the community's expectations as an administrator, and not totally mess everything up. Thanks again for your support! Malinaccier (talk) 17:13, 26 January 2008 (UTC) [reply]

My RFA

Thanks!
Revolving Bugbear, thank you for showing your support in my RFA which passed with 38 support, 0 oppose, and 0 neutral! I also want to give special thanks to my Admin Coach and nominator, Useight for all of his help and support. I promise that I'll give my best effort as an admin, and I hope that your confidence in me proves to be justified. If I can ever be of any help, please let me know. In the mean time, I have some cleaning to do.

Have a great day! Jauerbackdude?/dude. 20:20, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

a thank you note

Thanks for participating in my RfA!
Although it failed 43/27/0, I'm happy because the outcome has been very helpful in many meaningful ways. Your support and remarks contributed so much to this. If you followed my RfA you know what happened. Most of the editors who posted opposing opinions have never edited with me. Some articles I edit deal with controversial topics and with respect to a very few of these, editors who didn't know much about me had some worries about confrontational editing and civility. Since I support their high standards I can easily (and will gladly) address this. The support and ecouragement to run again soon has been wonderful, thanks again. Cheers! My RfA

Has passed; many thanks for the nomination, I didn't expect that you would get dragged into the mess that it became, or indeed that it would become a mess at all. I haven't been here long, but for an RfA to spawn an SSP check, CU check and an ArbCom case must be a first. Now all that remains is to clear up that mess and get on with, er, building an encyclopedia here. Now, your next task, should you wish to accept it, is to find a nominee who will sail through without drama. I don't believe in spamming pretty pictures around the place, so this will have to do. But I do appreciate the effort you've put in on my behalf. Perhaps I can now sleep for a while. Kind Regards. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 23:05, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thank you. I do believe that it has a license under GFDL -- its just that I was not sure how to signify this in the caption. Please give me a minute to scare up this source. Thank you very much and have a good day. Belicia (talk) 21:17, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bugbear, I've been here awhile so I've certainly seen WP:CABAL linked before... I'm not sure what point you hoped to get across, and I'm disappointed if my line of questioning seemed either ignorant or abstruse. Is your point: the editor is criticizing the Cabal, which is obviously valid criticism? Is your point: the editor is calling a certain group of people Cabalists, which is afoul of NPA? Or that criticizing cabalism is unfair, pointless, incorrect, etc. I asked a very specific question and "WP:CABAL" wasn't really an answer at all. I'm curious what you hoped to convey with the link. --JayHenry (talk) 02:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for following up with the explanation on my talk page. The situation was genuinely inscrutable to me and I'm someone who is familiar with, shall we say, the long arc of the User:ScienceApologist story and its related issues, but not all the details. I can see both sides, where on the one hand there's some content that's been pushed away from neutrality, and on the other hand those editors trying to return it to neutrality (or what they see as neutrality) sometimes crossing the line in terms of civility. As a general caution against groupthink I think the essay is probably okay, but if it ends up being frequently used as an attack I'd probably rethink that stance. --JayHenry (talk) 05:47, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
