Svetlana "Seka" Aleksić (Serbian Cyrillic: Светлана "Сека" Алексић) is a famous turbo-folk star born on April 23rd, 1981 in Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, then Yugoslavia. She recorded all of her music albums in Serbia, but she is also popular in all Ex-Yugoslavian countries. She is performing all over Europe, mostly in cities with Serbian diaspora as her most numerous fans. She holds only Bosnian citizenship [1].

Biography

Seka Aleksić was born to a Bosnian Serb father, Milorad and a Bosniak mother, Ibrima. Her parents later divorced and she continued living with her mother. When the war broke out, Seka and her family moved to Banja Koviljača, Serbia and later Šabac. She started out singing Ceca's songs in cafés before she became famous. She moved to Switzerland for 2 years to boost her career in clubs and discotheques.
