Revision as of 23:37, 3 January 2009
This is a list consisting of couples from the fictional realm who have been titled as supercouples (referred to as power couples or dynamic duos in other reference). Couples that merit this title include:
- Mania (significant press, media attention, etc. being placed on the couple, having to do with charm)
- Labeled a supercouple by valid sources
- Notable impact (having defined the medium by either Number 1 criteria cited above or by becoming a defacto symbol for its genre)
- Listed as an all-time top romance
Each of these examples has been identified by scholars, critics and press as defining a supercouple.[1][2][3]

(help) - ^ "It was very hot! They were very successful together (there’s an understatement), and their love story was the centerpiece of that long story. I didn’t know what it meant to be part of creating a supercouple at the time…and of course, we couldn’t know they’d be a supercouple until we got well into it. But Sonny & Brenda are a huge source of pride for me. I love them still." -- Longtime General Hospital writer Karen Harris in a 2008 interview about Sonny and Brenda.

(help)Reference mentions Ross and Rachel before going on to note: "In the 1980s and 1990s, the super-coupling plot trend spilled over into primetime, catering to both ends of the demographic spectrum. Dynasty 's Blake and Krystle were king and queen of the midlife crisis party, while Beverly Hills 90210's Brenda and Dylan were lip-locked — and longing for each other — back at the prom." - ^ Fickett, Travis.
