The 2009 Indianapolis Colts season will be the 57th season for the team in the National Football League and the 26th in Indianapolis. It is the first season since 2002 that the Colts will not have Tony Dungy on their coaching staff, due to his retirement from coaching. The Colts will attempt to improve upon their 12-4 record in 2008 and once again make the playoffs.
