Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, and Wesley Snipes are among the mega-talented cast that worked along and recognized his crafty skills as he portrayed an undercover detective in Antoine Fuqua’s thriller project, “ ''''''Brooklyn's Finest'''''' ”(2010). Russel Costanzo, director of “The Tested” (2010) and recipient of recent film festival accolades, proclaims that Tobias is an impressive and significant talent. He further testified that Tobias brought a refreshingly unexpected dimension to the character and remained “so in the pocket”.

There’s no obscurity to the reason Tobias humbly accepted the NAACP IMAGE AWARD nomination for Best Lead Male In a Daytime Series for his role as “Vincent Jones” on ABC’s “One Life To Live” (2006-Present). He glows on any set whether it is commanding attention playing this sensitive, edgy maverick with obvious vulnerability or portraying the restrained music mogul in “Delirious” starring Steve Buscemi, Alison Lohman, and Michael Pipp (2007). It is evident that Tobias is poised and ready for lead roles in any network series or major motion film. His versatility is evident as he played the role of Deshawn in the NBC’s hit series Law & Order- Criminal Intent (2009). Deshawn was an ex-convict making an honest living for himself when he was interrogated after doing a good deed.

The Tribeca Film Festival showcased “Blackout” (2008) where Tobias continued to pleasantly affect feelings deeply and strongly alongside such great actors as Jeffrey Wright and Melvin Van Peebles. He demonstrates his acting range by creating and displaying a special uniqueness with each role; Such as his performance as a military officer in NBC’s “Law & Order-Special Victims Unit” (2005), or playing opposite Nia Long as “Skeeter Matthews,” hoodlum extraordinaire in NBC’s “Third Watch” (2004), or delivering memorable funny one-liners with ease in “Hitch” (2005) along side Will Smith and Robinne Lee.

He played the lead role in “Harlem’s Beauty” (2003), a movie that focuses on stereotypes, and was recognized at the 2003 Black Filmmaker’s Festival in Aruba for his outstanding performance. Receiving accolades for his craft is something Tobias is endlessly grateful for. He was recently selected by Essence magazine, out of hundreds of nominees, to be celebrated as an “Essence Do Right Man”. The issue focuses on men who are taking efforts to master their craft while simultaneously making an impact in the community (August 2007).

From the time he emerged playing the lead, as Fantasia’s love interest, in the “Free Yourself” video (2005), or gained international exposure when he was selected for Heineken’s “Double Nod” commercial campaign, one can’t decide if it’s his perfect mysterious smile, deep soulful eyes, or his strong muscular build that influenced such loyalty from his legion of female fans before he even spoke his first line and allowed you to experience his natural charisma, penetrating voice and infectious laugh.

He was honored by winning the prestigious Audelco award for his role in Tunde Samuel’s musical “Oya”, an award bestowed on Hollywood legends such as Ossie Davis, Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington. Tobias Truvillion has made quite an impression.

Aside from establishing a presence on screen, he spent a few years blazing through the fashion industry as a well-known model. Tobias represented Ford modeling agency and graced the pages of top beauty and fashion magazines throughout the United States. A selected highlight from that period was Tobias’ partnership with the 2003 Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Tournament in the Bahamas, which led to him being selected to unveil the “Jordan23 2003” Spring Line.

Whether he is being recognized for his contribution to charitable causes such as The Gabriel Project, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS, and the Michelle Thomas Admiration Society or mentoring young athletes, Tobias leaves everyone with the same message – Making dreams happen takes dedication, passion, and a strong work ethic. These are all qualities that directors, cast members, and the crew would say describe Tobias Truvillion and this is only the beginning.

Truvillion was born in Flushing, Queens in New York City. He attended Parson JHS.
