Komaram Puli (Telugu: కొమరం పులి) is an upcoming Telugu action film directed by S. J. Suryaah, who previously directed Block busters Vaali and Kushi. The film stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role as a cop, with Nikisha Patel, playing the lead female role as superintendent of police,[1] Manoj Bajpai, Charan Raj, Nassar, Jyothi Krishna, Bhrahmaji, Ali and Girish Karnad in supporting roles and Shriya Saran appearing in an item number. The film, featuring a successful soundtrack by Academy Award Winner A. R. Rahman, is produced by Singanamala Ramesh on a Rs. 42 crore budget and would be distributed by [[]] of Geetha Arts. The film is slated for a release on aug 25, 2010[2].

Komaram Puli is director S.J.Suryaah's dream project and big budget project until now in his career. Initially he planned to make the movie with Pawan Kalyan in Telugu and with actor Vijay in Tamil he sent bound scripts to both superstars. but nothing has been confirmed. The storyline is also discussed with Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi. Later, after the confirmation from Pawan Kalyan, it was finalised to make in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role as the director didn't receive any response from other superstars. Komaram is taken from the surname of the Gond martyr Komaram Bheem, who fought against the erstwhile Asaf Jahi dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad State.

The soundtrack features 6 songs composed by A. R. Rahman and lyrics penned by Chandrabose. The highly anticipated soundtrack album was released on 11 July 2010 by Sony Music. The audio was launched by Rahman and his mother Kareema in a function held at H.I.C.C Novotel, Hyderabad. The soundtrack got overwhelming positive reviews and has become a hot seller. The audio sales reached a total of 7.6 lakhs of CDs in the first three days, which is an all time record in Telugu film history.[3]
