:It's a lot better now with the references. [[Talk:Luca Guastini|The talk page]] shouldn't be cleared; those things are standard messages that just say that a [[WP:BLP|BLP]] page should comply with the right policy (as is always the case). Oops, thanks! ArakunemTalk 17:06, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

No probs – didn't think you'd mind :) I saw the user's original posts at WP:HELPDESK and kept an eye on their user page just to make sure they weren't bitten – it's clear they're trying to contribute constructively. matt (talk) 17:08, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I get the same vibe, and have also unfortunately seen too many potential contributors template-bombed into saying "The heck with this"... So far silence from this user, but I'm holding out hope that we haven't lost another one. ArakunemTalk 17:56, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi!

Thanks for the b'day message! I just noticed it between my featured picture notifications :) - Zephyris Talk 13:57, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

OK Mr "Look at me with featured pictures"...! :) matt (talk) 17:37, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of artist page Lost Dawn

I'm unsure why you deleted the page that I created for a band who interest me greatly and who have started to receive recognition within the musical world. A lot of time and effort went into creating an accurate account of the band, and I dont feel that any of the wiki terms have been violated. If you aren't prepared to take back your decision, then perhaps you would be so kind as to send me teh content of the page, so that when the band have aquired further recognition, I am able to re-submit with more detail and additional content

Velvet92 (talk) 18:11, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi Velvet92. The reason why the page was deleted was that it didn't seem to say why the band are notable. There's a list at WP:BAND that outlines (generally) what a band should have done to qualify for an article. If the band do satisfy any of the items on the list, then you can add good-quality references (such as an interview, live review, that sort of thing) to verify the information. I've userfied the article – you can find it at User:Velvet92/Lost Dawn. This means you're able to work on it before making it live – there won't be the same risk of deletion. Thanks for the understanding, and please ask any questions if you have them – I'm here to help! Cheers, matt (talk) 18:24, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. This was my first Wiki entry, so I'd wanted to start with a small enough group. I wasn't aware of all the criteria, so I will keep working on the article until I feel that I have hit enough key requests for the article to be resubmitted.

Velvet92 (talk) 18:57, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

No probs. Remember – the article only has to satisfy one of the criteria, not all of them! Cheers, matt (talk) 18:59, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

THE 60TH MISS UNIVERSE 2011

Hi, Mattgirling

It seems THE 60TH MISS UNIVERSE 2011 creates two Google results when searching for Eka Gurtskaya. Is it possible to delete the page? --John KB (talk) 13:23, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi John. I don't think that deleting the THE 60TH MISS UNIVERSE 2011 page would do much – it seems to be more affected by Google's cache of the article (when it wasn't a redirect). I'd imagine that next time Google crawls that page, it will be "dropped" from their listings in favour of the (correct) Miss Universe 2011 article. Either way, I don't think the duplicate listing will disappear from Google until something is done "their end". matt (talk) 14:14, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Hopefully that happens soon, wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been looking for her name in Miss Georgia. Will you create its talk page (Talk:Miss_Universe_2011)? --John KB (talk) 21:57, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello Matt. I'd like to know if now the page is adhering to the policy on biographies of living persons. Can I clear Talk:Luca Guastini or we should leave these advises? Thank you. OlManRiv (talk) 11:24, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

It's a lot better now with the references. The talk page shouldn't be cleared; those things are standard messages that just say that a BLP page should comply with the right policy (as is always the case). matt (talk) 09:28, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
