Football career

Born in Valladolid has spent his entire career in football at Real Valladolid, the club he joined in the 1990-1991 season, with only 8 years team from Colegio San Agustin, where he studied.

Jacobo continued training with the first team of Real Valladolid and playing with the second team during the 2001/02 and 2002/03. Thus, in the 2003/04 season on loan decided to go for minutes to stop being the shadow of the goalkeeper at the time Real Valladolid Albano Bizzarri that came from Real Madrid CF

Jacobo went on loan to Palencia CF and after Real Jaén where he had the minutes needed to get back with more experience. After being away from earth, back again in 2005/06 where he debuted in a competitive match with the first team Real Valladolid enjoy games as a starter but this year the team not achieve its goal of promotion. In the following season 2006/07 in the popular "season of records" from the hand of Jose Luis Mendilibar where the team finished with 88 points on today's record, Jacobo, began taking shape as goalkeeper great performances, but an injury his knee was once recovered, the coach count on Alberto López Fernández, great veteran former goalkeeper of the Real Sociedad de Fútbol and runners up of the League of La Liga in 2002/03. Yet this season James was a participant in several minutes and he and his lifelong club the Real Valladolid won promotion to the La Liga and the title of champions of the Second Division, highly rated in the country.

In the 2007/08 season, Jacobo was signed by CD Numancia Soria militant of the second division, in which a permanent fixture finally uncovered a great goalkeeper, with goalkeeper fewest the category with only 28 goals conceded in the season tying with goalkeeper Club Deportivo Castellón and masterful performances by the penalties that stopped 5 of 8 shots and taking a spectacular media coverage where even halfway through the season's First Division, Real Betis Real Zaragoza or Getafe Club de Fútbol were very interested in acquiring their rights, but a negotiation between 3 parts, player, CD Numancia and Real Valladolid with a repurchase option, led to continue with their great performances until the end of the season in the team Soria where he again reached his second consecutive promotion to the La Liga, obtaining also the title of champions. [1]

After all this wonderful year, as expected, the Real Valladolid gave effect to the repurchase option had close to 500,000 € with a contract of 3 years duration. In the summer of 2008 and after the great interest of the Getafe Club de Fútbol I needed a goalie for the serious knee injury Ustari produced in the Olympics, Jacobo ended up in the then fashionable set of Getafe FC, a club which had made history two years ago by the late arrival of the two King's Cup quarter-finals and the FC Bayern Munich, dedicated team in Europe. [2]

Jacobo made his debut in Week 2 of the Real Betis, which was his debut in the league of stars called the La Liga of Spanish football, the result was 0-0 [3] and Jacobo was named man of the match and day by the Spanish media that September 14, 2008. He played great games in La Liga with 20 games played and 24 goals conceded between the League and Cup until the final stretch of league expulsion for a second yellow after Valencia CF in the Estadio Mestalla, in an inmate in the area of David Villa current player of FC Barcelona and the subsequent coaching change by replacing Víctor Muñoz by Michel, former coach of the Real Madrid CF will give the ownership back to the goalkeeper recovered and Argentina Oscar Ustari.

[4] The following season began as a starter in Valladolid in the La Liga playing a total of 20 games with 23 goals conceded between the league championship and the Copa del Rey after even have had a low of 4 months for an operation stomach which had to be emergency surgery, major scare not only recovered but came to help the team's hand by then ex coach Spanish national football team absolutely [[Javier Clemente] ] that had been booked for the last 8 games to try to complete the miracle of staying in the gold category of Spanish football. Upon arrival was indisputably with Jacobo, although to be recovering from his serious operation and I almost get the comeback it's because on the last day of the fall league played in the Camp Nou and with nothing Barca and nothing less than the records of Pep Guardiola. The FC Barcelona and Messi did not forgive and Real Valladolid fell into the category of silver.

In the 2010/11 season despite having James offers top teams and even a very advanced negotiations for transfer of more than € 2,000,000 of the Celtic FC in the end there was no agreement between clubs, [5] decided finishing his last year of his contract with his team of life to help you get back promotion to the top flight. But despite getting to get into the semi-final led to the final place for advancement and have to face the semifinals of the Elche Club de Fútbol on Real Valladolid does not achieved his goal and stayed one more season in the silver category of Spanish football.

In the 2011/12 season after being offered a renewal and have several offers more [6] in Spain, the player chooses to have new experiences outside their country to become better known in cartel European, joining two seasons the Greek first division team FC Asteras Tripolis on July 18, 2011. [7]
