DYK ripple effect

The appearance of Hanna Bergas on DYK garnered 6,800 hits for Kindertransport, which was mentioned in the hook. The appearance of Julia Voss on DYK garnered Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver, which I substantially edited, 2,700 hits on August 4, 2011. In addition, I nominated William J. Toye so that Clementine Hunter, whose art he forged, could get on DYK. They appeared on June 23, 2011, gaining 1,600 and 1,400 hits respectively.

Known Google or media-originated spikes of articles I've begun or expanded

  1. Die Sendung mit der Maus, 40th anniversary commemorated by a Google "doodle" (modified logo) (4,900 hits)
  2. Armin Maiwald, creator of Die Maus (361 hits)
  3. Christoph Biemann, producer on Die Maus (186 hits)
  4. Hans Litten was the subject of a BBC drama and a documentary, prompting several articles in the press as well. Monthly traffic jumped from roughly 450-600 hits to (55,497 hits)

To see something really impressive, however, check out what happened to Martha Graham when Google honored her. Stats
