PLDT - Dragon2016

Hey Gogo Dodo. Dragon2016 has instigated numerous altercations with me, somehow connected with his vandalism of the Dota 2 article, pertaining to the I.P. address of 121.54.32.xxx that he frequented last year. What has been proven is that Dragon2016 is operating in the Philippines, particularly from PLDT. Numerous precautionary measures have been taken in the past, but nothing has permanently halted this puppeteer's idiotic vandalism spree. This may be an extreme, but is it possible to remove I.P. access for this entire service area? It's not simply 121.54.32.xxx; Dragon2016 has used other I.P. addresses, including the 120.28.xxx.xxx range to vandalize Wikipedia. If we take this measure, we will not have to deal with him anymore. WayKurat, who lives in the Philippines and has had numerous negative encounters with this individual over the years confirms that PLDT is where he is operating from. Hello, Gogo Dodo! Back in January you deleted an article about Anthony DeVitis because it was created by a banned or blocked user. An article about that subject has now been recreated; I came across it while doing New Pages Patrol. The author of the current piece, Adv43, was blocked a week after creating the article I am asking about, for abusing multiple accounts. Does that mean the current article about Anthony DeVitis needs to be deleted? In my opinion the subject Anthony DeVitis is clearly worthy of an article, and the article is reasonably written and neutral. But I don't know what Wikipedia's rules are about articles created by users who later get blocked, so I thought I would let you know about the situation and leave it up to you what to do. Thanks. --MelanieN (talk) 01:21, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While you are at it you might also take a look at Robert Sprague. Articles about this subject have been deleted several times in the past because of creation by blocked/banned users; you were involved in one of the deletions.[1] The article was recently recreated by a brand new account named RS76, who smells a lot like the previous sockpuppets. Again, I found the article on New Pages Patrol. IMO the subject Robert Sprague clearly deserves a page, and the article seems to be acceptable on its face and neutrally written, but I don't know if there is some Wikipedia rule that applies here. --MelanieN (talk) 21:33, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Haha I like the message you have when I edit your talk page, must be a fun preemptive counter to people asking you why you delete poor articles lol. Anyway, I stumbled onto this page and did some research on this guy, he has been a very influential political adviser and has made significant contributions to American Politics. I wanted to create a section about his theories of presidential power, and wanted to know if you would like to help :) Or if you know of anyone who might be interested in it, or where I could find someone who might be. You did some general revisions, nothing to serious I think, but as an admin I thought you might have some advice or something like that. Anyway, thanks for your help! Have a great weekend. Problem with editor User:Eaglestorm

Hello, I am having a problem with this user about a How I Met Your Mother episodes Good Crazy (see User_talk:Eaglestorm#Regarding_this_edit_.5B1.5D). Based off their edits from their talk page, they like to edit while logged out. I and several IP editors have made edits about a continuity reference between this episode and Last Cigarette Ever. This is their most recent revert of the edit [2]. Originally, they asked for references, so I provided them [3] [4], but then they reverted anyways. TV episode reviews would in my mind at least seem to be valid references. Can you come in here to arbitrate? Thanks Thegreyanomaly (talk) 04:12, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify, Thegreyanomaly has assumed that I am Eaglestorm. I am not, nor have I ever claimed to be Eaglestorm. 99.192.75.44 (talk) 04:15, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough; you were monitoring his/her talk page closely, so it seemed liked a valid assumption, I guess I was wrong. Nonetheless, arbitration would be nice. Thegreyanomaly (talk) 04:17, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Since the both of you appear to be hanging out on my talk page, I decided to reply here. I've never watched the show and it appears to me that this is one of those cases where if you haven't watched the entire show from episode 1, you just don't get any of the references to past episodes. For example, it took me awhile to realize that Future Ted was a plot device, not a particular episode. It is noted in the main article that Future Ted is an unreliable narrator, so stating for certain Marshall had his last cigarette is a bit iffy to me. But that is my opinion from an outsider's point of view, having never watched the show.

I think that you should open an discussion on the article talk page about it. Perhaps the importance of the last cigarette is greater than I realize (again, I haven't watched the show), so maybe it should be included. Discuss it amongst yourselves and see if you can come to a consensus. Ask other interested editors (hopefully ones who have watched the show) about their opinions.

You might also considering opening up a general discussion on the inclusion of the continuity section as was briefly touched upon in the talk page. Removal of the sections from the episode articles may be preferred. I noticed that The Simpsons episode articles (which I know references past episodes a lot) seems to have avoided inclusions of self-referential lists. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:04, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry (and note about Survivor)

Sorry for bringing you into this, I think I've made the mistake of dragging you into conflicts about shows you don't watch or know much about before. But on the note of something you are knowledgeable about, I think there is a discussion at Talk:Survivor:_Philippines#One_Tribe.27s_Name_Confirmed you may want to jump in on. Thegreyanomaly (talk) 17:33, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's quite alright. I just did not think I was in a very good position to answer the question since I do not watch the show. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 02:10, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Survivor

Seeing that you and me both follow the article Survivor: Philippines do you think its worth asking to protect the page? Most of the additions ever since the page has been made have been unsourced rumors. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 02:51, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Ofer Gabber

I strongly protest the deletion of the page Ofer Gabber, though I can not see what its content was at the time of deletion. He is one of the main living researchers in pure mathematics and deserves an entry in English wikipedia. German wikipedia has a page for him [5], which is still very incomplete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zoran.skoda (talkcontribs) 21:05, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Downey Jr.

I understand why you deleted my changes to the article but... are you sure? I mean, like, I've seen many other pages before that made my day about a reference from a movie they are in and I was just hoping to do that to my favorite character's page. I just really want to make his page as ~rad~ as he is. I'm sorry I'm basically arguing the point and I just want to thank you so much for helping his page be what it is today and contributing to it. Once again, I'm sorry I want to do this so badly and thanks. --76.227.103.99 (talk) 23:40, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Insertrandomizerusernamehere[reply]

Prof_John_Mark_Bishop

Hello,

I am very new to Wiki authoring and apologies in advance if my questions are very naive.

I was wondering if there are anything in particular I should do to avoid the page being deleted.

I was asked to give links to Prof Mark Bishop's academic page as well as the LinkedIn profile which I did, yet the page got deleted.

I appreciate your response and help.

best wishes

Hi Gogo,

Can you please remove the redirect restriction on Danny Noriega? I have a page in my sandbox that I'd like to fill it with.

Thanks!

Quite the list of disruptive accounts to go through. Thank you for helping out--much appreciated, as always. 99.153.142.225 (talk) 03:07, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. It was quite a mess. Thank you for your dedication in dealing with it. Materialscientist handled your RFPP request at the same time I was dealing with your AIV request, which is why the double protection happened. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 03:12, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I hate to double-report, but when that stuff drags on for more than 15 minutes I just wanna holler until the firemen get there. And I get really tenacious about not allowing BLP violations to stick, even for a moment. Often the subjects are pop culture wunderkinds I've never heard of, but boy do the adolescents know who they are.... got to be a better way of preventing that from even getting started; perhaps one day policy will require protection for all BLPs. 99.153.142.225 (talk) 03:18, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I know what you mean. All of the fans are having a field day with it. Twitter is going a little wild about it. Even saw a screen shot of one of the vandalized revisions. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 03:30, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. And I thought global warming and Wall Street greed were the harbingers of civilization's end. Twitter buzz about a pop star's vandalized Wikipedia page (shakes head at the banality of technological usage, pours another glass of ale, a virtual gift from Drmies). 99.153.142.225 (talk) 03:37, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Lang Page Deletion

I understand under the requirements of A7 that I have failed to show the significance of Dave Lang and therefore why someone would use wikipedia to search his name. I'm still getting used to understanding all the required criteria for producing a page, apologies. I mentioned it briefly under the heading "Twitter" on the Dave Lang page that his name is becoming somewhat of a meem around Nottingham University campus, a trend if you will, and indeed is spreading to other universities close by. It speaks for itself that Dave Lang has become a phrase whereby no-one understads the origin, hence the need for students to use wikipedia and find out who this person is. Please reply back to me with what you think about this subject and I will be happy to take advice and provide any information that may be required.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smithydosser (talkcontribs) 20:24, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your speedy reply. Ok that seems fair and I was unaware that Wikipedia do not support the production of personal pages due to me using Wikipedia all the time to search various writers and actors etc. However, if I provide reliable sources of the various published articles Dave Lang has been a conversation topic in, will this be enough for the acceptance of this page?

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smithydosser (talkcontribs) 20:54, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
