Survivor

You had reverted one of my changes while I was fixing the rest of the Survivor pages. They are fully compliant now to US date coding. Sorry I didn't finish them all at the same time. Actually, upon further reading of the docs for {{Infobox Television}}, which the Survivor Infobox is based upon, your formatting is correct and I made a mistake in reverting you. Sorry about that.

On a side note, the date is automagically formatted per your date preference setting (another thing I learned reading the docs). So while the dates might be in one format, if you change your user preferences, the format changes. I did make one minor change to all of your corrections in that I added a comma and space between the day and year for easier reading when editing the Infobox. The page is simply incorrect. However Blotto adrift believes he has an monopoly over it. When several different users correct it he complains to an admin and you block IP address'. Please if you are going to block someone in the future please look into BOTH sides. The trenton ontario page is incorrect and it will stay that way until you stop siding with Blotto Adrift. This is not the only page users have complained about Blotto adrift changing. I am here to help wikipedia by correcting mistakes. This will only improve this sites poor view. However if admins do not look into the actions of all users this site will only go down hill. Blocking based on providing correct information is sad.

The issue is not incorrect information, but non-notable information. You are not "correcting" information, you are adding non-notable information. You say that "several different users" are inserting this non-notable academic, but I'm fairly sure you and these "different users" are the same person. As has been pointed out in the Talk page for the article, the person is not notable for inclusion on Wikipedia. If you can show why this person is notable, you are welcome to re-add it, but so far, you have not done so and therefore the entry will be removed.

You also state that Blotto adrift has other edits that people have complained about and I do not see evidence of that. In fact, his edits show that his has let others edit the article without reverting it. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:49, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I am quite aware of what academic publishing is like and you have provided no proof that the person is notable. Merely having a Ph. D. does not mean that somebody is notable. New Survivor issue

As my understanding goes, words like "voted out" are to be lower case when considered in a sentence 1st voted out verses 1st Voted Out. Someone changed that and several other things today, a random IP address. What are your thoughts? I can make the changes to all to be consistent. I don't mind. Let me know what you think. It should probably be lower case if you're referring to the table entries since "Voted Out" is not a title or position one can hold (though Sole Survivor is). You're welcome to change it, but it is probably not that big of a deal to change. As for the random IP address, he's not really random as I know who that is. I agree with the others that the link from Cirie to the season's article was inappropriate at the time, but now that you have revised her article, the link is fine. I don't think there were necessarily any ownership issues with the article either. I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad day. You need some ice cream. =) You kind of lost me on your question though. I think you are asking about the meaning of the edit summary, not the edits themselves. It's in reference to copy editing. It's kind of like "cleanup", but perhaps not as extensive. I use it as a shorthand instead of saying something like "move space to the correct side of the period, lower case a letter". "Knock on wood," haha yeah he has at least stayed away from the obvious pages and I am content with that. It has been nice getting back to expanding the 'pedia without having to deal with him. Hopefully we've seen the last of it. With all the crap that he brought to the Favre article, the page has kinda spiraled out of control, hopefully after the season is over we can do a rewrite and get the page up to FA-Class. Question straight to the source. How many warnings should you give to someone before you report them? Example of Shairia, you beat me to the punch fixing it, but something so clearly vandalism shouldn't even get the one in my book, but I don't want to waste your guys time reporting them if you can't do anything until they get X number of warnings, so as to be fair to those who make an honest mistake. Juggernaut999, Other Affairs

Through some investigation, I have discovered that Juggernaut999 did in fact inserted blatantly fake contents into Wikipedia articles. The fake contents in question bears striking similarity to vandal ColourWolf. This makes Juggernaut999 a sockpuppet, and he should be banned.

Edmonton Investors Group Limited Partnership

I have removed the information on the shareholders other occupations.

Before updating with the new list of investors, there was a 6 year old table which was outdated. I updated the page to not include the "jobs' of the investors. The shareholders were already on the page, although it was 7 years old. All I have done is update the page. Confused

The whole point of the edit is that the table is dated - the number of shares held by the individuals has change in the past 7 years. It is documented in the reference that 6 individuals have 9.14% of the shares, it is undocumented the number of shares held by the other investors. While listening to the radio in Edmonton today, this particuliar page was referenced & it was said to be inaccurate due to the age of the document & the fact that it has not been updated in some time. That is why I have been trying to update the page, with the list of investors, people are using the facts put on this page, so they might as well see an updated shareholder list. Skyreach equipment doesn't even have shares any longer?!?!? To be taken as people need to be able to see the corrected list. I cannot understand why you wouldn't just fix the apparent problem, instead of making me edit the thing each time....

Hi, Gogo. Actually, I'm not sure I do want it back. I did leave in good stead and I asked to have the mop and bucket taken back. It just caused me too many headaches, hassles and humiliation at the hands of some really nasty users of this site. I admit it would be fun to be able to shut down the nonsense again, but the last thing I need is some troll yelling "admin abuse" with every deleted bit of nonsense. Actually, I don't use the rollback as much as I do the revert command in popups. It has to do with the fact that the rollback isn't available in Recent Changes. And I'm so used to using popups, it's become reflexive for me.

I'm sure somebody else has asked you before, but have you considered creating an account? It would be much easier to keep track of your edits, use the various tools available for vandalism reverting, and leaving you messages. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:58, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

I had one once, it wasn't too much of a difference, though I do miss the ability to create articles! I tend to pop in an out so editing as an IP fits. I'm editing from a static IP address (or at least a dynamic one that does not change very often!) so it's no big deal. I didn't realize when we were working on the Survivor stuff you were an admin. I have a situation. I have a user that is making accusations on a page I stumbled on through IrishLass0128. When I got there, I saw you there too. Now, I'm not coming to you for anything other than advice. User:DJS24 is out for me. He's pissed because I got one of his socks User:CarsGm5 banned last weekend before I left for Daytona and he was warned to behave (see here [2]). Now I'm back, I comment on a page with a friendly advisory about logos, User:Blackwatch21 has them, and immediately I'm attacked on Blackwatch's page. Gogo Dodo, I want to apologize that KellyAna had to burden you with this issue, as she has with several other admins, most of which discarded it because she started the issue. I really don’t know where to begin; I’m getting tired of explaining myself to people. KellyAna and I have a really bad history on the Las Vegas TV page, I have moved on, from that site and KellyAna. You can check several talk pages where other admins have been disgusted with KellyAna comments and games she plays. Now, KellyAna has been off Wiki, because she claims she was in Daytona. However, the minute she returns she attacks my brother’s talk page. She claims she was trying to help but what she says on her talk page [3] and Blackwatch21’s [4] is nothing but threats and intimation of a new user. A method that KellyAna and Irishlass do very well. One statement from her says, “I can certainly "intrude" in ways that would get you in trouble”. I wouldn’t call that helping. If you look at their history (KellyAna/Irishlass), I counted 6 to 7 new users that they threaten, warn, double team, or intimate. Now I’m pretty sure Wikipedia doesn’t want users acting that way to new users joining the site. That’s very unprofessional coming from a professional person KellyAna claims to be. Now that’s the only reason we (KellyAna and myself) came back into contact, is because I saw your mean, unnecessary comments on Blackwatch21’s talk page. As for Blackwatch21, YES that is my younger brother joining Wikipedia. Now KellyAna can call it what she wants, I really don’t care. I’m sure ¾ of Wiki users have relatives that have Wikipedia accounts. As for her sockpuppet claim, that was discarded officially by Wikipedia to be a false claim, as I was notified via email. That information was removed from my page as, the info was not true. Now, for KellyAna saying I going to respond to your talk page, of course I’m going to. Who wouldn’t respond when their name is getting tossed around like a piece of trash. Now, I don’t want to make this a big issue, I’m tired of dealing with her. I’m here right now to defend myself, then I’m going back to contribute to my sites. Finally, for the comment I sent to KellyAna, it was nothing more than me pleading not to make this an issue again but with the type of person she is, she calls it harassment. If the claims were false, why is Car's still banned? As to the Vegas claim, as today is the 26th and I'm certainly not the last to comment here [5] that's just another false claim by DJS. I've checked into the past history somewhat (there's just way too much for me to look at in detail). I suggest that everybody just separate and go about their own ways. DJS24 has stated that he has left the Las Vegas dispute, so let him leave it. We should assume good faith that Blackwatch21 is DJS24's brother and leave him alone. Blackwatch21 has had very little input in the dispute and until he does something bad, leave him alone. As for the dispute itself, since the community is at a stalemate on what to do, I suggest that if somebody is still interested in gaining a consensus that they post a message on perhaps Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television to ask what other people think about the situation. However, when whomever asks, I suggest that you leave the question simple and straight forward. Don't add additional commentary about the acrimony of the past dispute, accusations, etc. For example, leave the question short and simple:

There is a lack of consensus on Las Vegas (TV series), should series Infoboxes contain only the current stars of the show or should they contain past stars? If the Infobox should contain past stars, what format should it be in?

Step back, start again

Gogo Dodo, this has absolutly NOTHING to do with the Las Vegas article, as you can clearly see I have not touched the article since last weekend and have no desre but DJS24 claims I "had to get the last word" when it is clear I moved on last weekend. He then claims I "harassed" his relatives when it was impossible for me to know that there was any relation. I warned someone to remove logos and he jumped on my page. I did not contact him, I still haven't. I came to a neutral third party for advice and he started things up AGAIN. There is an obvious issue here and I'm not the one with it. He makes several false claims which I could point out here but won't. I just wanted your advice as to what to do, but he had to make it a big deal obviously following me around AGAIN. I have been calm and have ignored him, for the most part. Truly, how was I to know they were related? Truly, why was it wrong to tell someone to remove illegal logos on their page? I replied to Blackwatch only after he came to my page followed by DJS24. You'll see, if you truly look into the situation, I'm by and far not the instigator in any of this. I'm copying most of this to the reported incident and will show history that DJS24 is clearly instigating the problems ever since the creation of the sock last weekend. (←)Both, but blocking is pretty easy. I was watching WP:RFPP to see what length would work for different types of requests. It helped a lot to just see what length other admins chose for different types of requests. And I will always be careful when editing any page :-)

See I have worked with and seen a lot of blocks so I felt like I understood that more going into things than protection. But I have WP:RFPP on my watchlist now, so if Im not 100% sure than I wait to see what another will do, which is a great learning process. So I think Im getting the hang of that more and more. A quick question though, how often do you protect pages from creation? Like if someone recreates a deleted page right after it has been deleted? Would you protect the page from recreation? Or do something else?

Actually, I do have a question? We have appeared in Subiespor magazine on a few occasions, but I have no clue how to prove this. Obviously this is a copywritten publication. Warning the wrong user.

I just received a user talk comment telling me refrain from adding "inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Permanent makeup." My ISP along with many others use dynamic IP addresses so I find it hard to believe that an administrator such as yourself would be doing a foolish think like sending warnings to a leased IP address that would be given to another innocent user a day or two later. If I may make a suggestion, if someone who uses your IP has been vandalizing, it's a really good idea to get yourself a legitimate wikipedia ID so you don't get caught up with the vandals. Admins will do whatever they have to to protect wikipedia, so becoming a registered user will help make sure your contributions will always be welcome. Thanks! As Snowfire51 noted and you are aware of, IP addresses my be reassigned depending upon the ISP's setup. Edits by other people who coincidentally received the same IP address may appear when you get the same IP address. You will notice that the warning for spamming external links was left in November 2007 and it is now January 2008. Additionally, the same person with that assigned IP made similar edits in October 2007. I am aware that it is possible that the wrong person may receive the warning, but the warning was issued one minute after the last edit by the person who had the IP address in November so there is a fairly good chance that the correct person will receive the warning. However, in this case, the correct person did not and I'm sorry that you received the warning. As Snowfire51 suggested, I hope that you create an account on Wikipedia. She is very talented and has appeared on MTV. Are other people who have appeared on MTV on wikipedia? Re: deletion

Taint normally refers to where it's being used where a special character may be unsafe (not the case here), and it won't be putting anything in the deletion reason that wouldn't be present if the script weren't being used. It's setting the value, not innerHTML, so html tags, quote marks, etc, won't have any effect. As for putting stuff in the deletion reason - well, {{db|subject is an arsehole}} probably won't result in an admin clicking the delete tab anyway - but the intention here is to _reduce_, not eliminate, the chance of article content [other than deletion tags] ending up in the deletion log summary. I think you've deleted my band's page

Hi, I really think my band, Mens Rea, means something to people, so I think we do deserve a wikipedia page, at least as "Mens Rea Band". It was for a reason that I didn't edit "Mens Rea", but reather opened a new page for Mens Rea Band, as the latin term that was the inspiration for the band's name is, for the moment, more known to public than our band. I've put a lot of effort in writing the article and editing it (Till I couldn't do it anymore sisnce it was deleted), so I'd like to know why it was deleted, and to ask you to please let us have a value here

Deletion of Silver Diamond Entertainment

I have reviewed your reccomendations for deletion of my recent article. I notice that it has also been deleted. Please point out to me clearly what product I was advertising and what exactly was I trying to promote? The article clearly holds significance because it is a compnay started up by an African American who moved his operations to another country. If you use an edit summary explaining your change, the chances of it being reverted are less. He is an up and coming actor and the greater Toledo area is very proud of him and we are all very interested in his future. I completely agree with Davinci2008. I also like to visit wiki to stay informed on actors that have originated from my hometown of Toledo. It has become one of our company's "water cooler" traditions. I was upset to see Josh Costell's page was removed. I have investigated and was able to discover that SDowney83, a young male from Toledo, Ohio, who attended Waite High School (a rival school of the one Josh Costell attended) who does appear to have made it his purpose to get that one specific page removed for his own personal reasons. No a range block was not implemented (Im guessing you're referring to the 205.189.16.0/20 range). Even if one was, it really wouldn't be that long, as something like 5000 users could be affected. The individual IPs were blocked, and if they come back then a range block will be in order. Help

I am requesting assitance from you reguarding edits of another user. This is not vandalism, and yes, I have searched for a warning template. The user Sinepreltih keeps adding controversial information to the page Rock Lobster, even though said infromation is under discussion in reguards to its addition to said article. Every time me and another user have asked him on his talk page to stop adding said information until the discussion is resolved, he has deleted our comments, either labling them as vandalism or BS. If you look at his talk page history, you will see what I mean. He has also come onto my talk page telling me to F off. I have not removed said comment to keep it there incase I may need it later. Declined AIV of "Jerk, Beefy!"

I reported User:"Jerk, Beefy!" for a long history of vandalism but you declined to block because they have "no recent edits". There was an edit about 5 hours before I reported them, which is what prompted me to look at their edit history. Please take another look, because this user has been making sly and destructive edits that have eluded detection for too long. An example I found today was adding a seemingly innocuous edit to Julian Barnes here which included the assertion that a book was being simultaneously published in Romanian, but including the Bulgarian title. I only noticed this because an IP editor, presumably Romanian, took offense to this in the article space. Other examples include adding a list of (probably) legimate beers to a brewer's article, but adding a hoax "Beefy Bitter" here and then adding it to related articles. Please reconsider blocking. Dust

I noticed that you removed the external link I left. I am new to this, so maybe their was a better place to list the link. I put the link at that point because their is a lot of confussion on the use of dust control methods and thought that a link to a company in that business would be informative without adding a lot of technical informational that is already elsewhere. Water is the most common use, but per the Ohio EPA and the Federal EPA the use of water is not recommened as it causes more erosion problems. Based on my usage of Wikipedia and that of others I know of as a research site and the new EPA rules I thought the link would be helpful for those looking for more information on what to use or what they could do about a dust problem. that was quick, thanks for answering. Ok I will write to the other people this afternoon, I have many more certificates of him, and saw this article yesterday by chance and the name Mayer is deffinitely nonsense and makes no sense since the family name is Schiller-Szinessy and Mayer is a family name on his own as well, Marcus was his second surname (I don't know if this is the right word for i, somebody maybe americans who sometimes have last names as surnames might have confused it, but that was definitely a no go in last centuries Europe.

It's ok you deleted the other article,I just wanted to show the true biography, and I know my family history, and don't want it to be turned wrong, even after so many years.

In Cambridge Trinity College they are having his correct names too.

I will do as you propose and am happy to have a link where they might be able to help, I can also send scanned pics of my other documents from my ancestry to prove his correct name, I owe it to him for some reason.

I would like to know why. I had added verifiable information and in parentheses stated where the information can be found. Someone else was deleting whole paragraphs that were verifiable, then it was deleted entirely. Please let me know how it can be written in a way that it can stay on Wikipedia. Ohio State Buckeyes football

I am not 100% on this, but I am fairly certain that this new user who keeps messing with the article is a sock of Fiesta bowl who was handed an indef block after pushing the exact same edit and gross violations of civility. Really, it was more for the gross violations of civility, as you can see from the page. I thank you for your effort in stemming this problem. Hi! I posted a page on Gabriel Acevedo, and i found today that it has been deleted... I understand, according to the tag, that it was deleted because of lack of value in the notoriety scale of Wikipedia. Acevedo Velarde is a young artist, and a very important one within Latin American Art, and starting to make his work visible in places such as Berlin... What are your sources to determine he is not worthy of a page here? Have you checked any contemporary art source like artfacts.com to check that he is in fact a real person?

In this case the users are on a shared IP. I'm reasonably confident that the ones I have identified are all the same (and I think they have posted to that effect somewhere, he/they are a pretty bold vandal), but as a safety check the blocking admin should double check that the contributions match the patterns of other known ColourWolf accounts. As a checkuser, I try to avoid actually doing many blocks myself, to avoid the appearance of being judge, jury and executioner based on secret evidence. Given the technical findings here, if the contributions are a reasonable match then I would have no worries in blocking. Thatcher 11:01, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

He wants to be an Administrator, and yet the impetuousness of his is going to get an innocent person accused of an offence/crime someday. I only said that I'll return in three days to show you guys a website on how weak Wikipedia manages obscure articles. I did NOT say that I am going to MASSIVELY VANDALIZE WIKIPEDIA AND MAKE THEM SORRY!

As a sign of my good faith I have reverted the remaining of my hoax edits, which shows that nobody notices/bothers about them for nearly a month, which proves that these articles should be nominated for deletion.

Just want to say thanks for informing me and educating me about the vandalism on school pages. I really appreciate you taking the time out to reply, given you are one of the users who appears on this page at 186 Just about 40,000 edits as i type, that is something. I can only dream about going that far, my eyes would be blind if i spent that much time on the computer. Anyway take care and keep up the great work, it must feel like a neverending job, blocking users, IP addresses, etc. Sort of like grafitti in the public, you clean it off but it always comes back.
