Afd
User:Eusebeus apparently placed a prod on this article in 2006.
When that prod was declined, Eusebeus nominated it for deletion.
Eusebeus didn't inform me of either the prod or the afd, and I ended up creating a brand new article two years later.

I am going to request the history of the original article be merged with this article. I think Eusebeus made a mistake by not following the advice of the deletion policy, and informing the article creator.

Our decisions are supposed to be reached through fair-minded discussion, until a consensus is arrived at. Afd is not truly a venue for fair-minded discussions when nominators choose to disclude those who are likely to disagree with them.

In the interests of civility and collegiality, I encourage the nominator to leave a courtesy heads-up if they ever nominate an article for deletion in the future. Geo Swan (talk) 11:25, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Ethnic background

What is Kohlmann's ethnic background? One of the defendants in the Guantanamo trial mused that he thought "Kohlmann" was a Jewish name, but Kohlmann stated that that was inaccurate. Badagnani (talk) 23:04, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Firing of Peter Brownback

The section on the firing of Peter Brownback was misleading -- implying there was no controversy, and containing several unreferenced sentences to make this assertion. The google hits on the firing all report it as controversial -- or highly controversial.

This material would also be relevant in Peter Brownback's and Omar Khadr's articles. Perhaps it would be better if there was an article on the dismissal of Peter Brownback, and the details were placed there, then all three articles could say something like "Ralph Kohlmann officially dismissed Peter Brownback on May 29, 2008. The dismissal triggered questions over the vulnerability of the commission process to political interference. the dismissal of Peter Brownback" Geo Swan (talk) 11:11, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
