Title

The video that's been released on 3DS for download in the eShop (it's free) has a title logo that says "Welcome to Animal Crossing" - might this be the actual title? 99.30.79.193 (talk) 16:39, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if you think that "Welcome to Animal Crossing" or "Animal Crossing", but either way, probably not, and it shouldn't be added to the article unless it's confirmed. Sergecross73 msg me 16:59, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The "Welcome to" tag has been used on all Animal Crossing logos. It's not related to the title in any way. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 20:34, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The title of the page refers to the game as "Animal Crossing (3DS)", but it is called "Animal Crossing 3DS" in the article. Which one is the correct placeholder name? I thought the one with brackets myself, but I'm not sure enough to edit it accordingly... 76.67.5.117 (talk) 07:17, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Verification needed

Since its being removed a bit I'll explain it here, the the wikipedia article states that the trailer depictes some "new features" when the trailer does not state that they are new features nor does it explain the features, so a source that could verify this is needed.--sss333 (talk) 01:30, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The most recent Nintendo Power mentioned one of the new features (the ability to swim). Can that be used as the source for that new feature? SNS (talk) 01:36, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There's a certain way to cite sources that aren't online, yeah. Or you can just wait and see if it's later covered by an online source too. Either way. Sergecross73 msg me 02:53, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Stuff

Added new pictures, though the title picture that I added doesn't look well. Or is that my computer screen? KF5LLG (talk) 05:08, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Developer Roundtable

Nintendo of Japan released a developer roundtable for Animal Crossing 3DS, which has since been translated and put on YouTube. I'm not too sure on how to cite it though, as I'm not sure if it falls under copyrighted material and/or if the translation would need to be verified. It does provide a good deal of information though. Help? ClearUSB (talk) 02:47, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date

What is the release date that the source "Nintendo Power, Volume 270, Page 59" suggests? People keep on changing the release date, and I don't know which one to change it back to. (Since it's a print version, I can't tell which edits are vandalism/speculation, and which ones are changing it back to the correct date. Sergecross73 msg me 20:25, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gamestop, and retail in general, is not a reliable source for release dates if it hasn't been announced by the respective company (Nintendo) first. They use "placeholder" or "estimate/guess" dates that aren't official or correct in the end. Sergecross73 msg me 18:04, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"is an upcoming video game for the Nintendo 3DS console that will be released in 2012. " I actually dont think it will be released this year, I think we should remove that. There is no source to back this statement up.24.143.21.123 (talk) 01:23, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are sources: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/29919 Sergecross73 msg me 03:31, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possible picture?

Maybe someone who knows how to add a picture to wikipedia could add a screenshot we've seen from trailers as the pic for this for right now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.163.123.111 (talk) 04:12, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

This page should be moved back to "Animal Crossing (3DS)" because Jump Out is not a confirmed title. It is simply a rough translation of the Japanese title. We should wait until we actually know the international title before we have a proper article title. --Ice66Breaker 00:41, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Huge update from Nintendo Direct

There was a huge update from Nintendo Direct a few days ago. Can someone add the stuff? I'm currently on my iPod and editing is horrible on safari.

Listen, please.

I didn't cite my edit last night because I was waiting for the Nintendo Direct to come out officially. I've been watching the video on YouTube, but it didn't feel right to cite that. Can someone please restore my edits? 50.137.201.131 (talk) 15:47, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hasn't IGN or Gamespot or any reliable source done an article on it yet? This is a rather mainstream game. Seems like something would be available to source the information from... Sergecross73 msg me 16:10, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also, isn't the video right here? Sergecross73 msg me 16:11, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Trying to "source" a video, YouTube or not, is always finicky especially when it's in another language, which often means resorting to describing what's seen in the video rather than what is being said. That is unreliable. Also, your edits shouldn't have been written like a list and look like the back of a game box, as Sergecross73 said. It should have been written in prose. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 16:15, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I'm not a fan of using the video either, for the same reasons you listed, I was just pointing out that it was "out". (Aren't these types of things always available to watch after the first airing, until they assumeably take it down someday?) Like I was saying, it'd be best if you could find some reliable source that translated and reported on it. (IGN, Gamespot, etc.) It looks like Siliconera did an article on it here. That's useable, but as I and Thomas have said, if info is added, it should be in paragraph form, and rewritten to conform with sources like the Siliconera. Sergecross73 msg me 16:43, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tons of info

This couple are doing a let's play on YouTube of the Japanese version, and there is an overwhelming amount of new info in it. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6KjQD8nI9QbAfJAcAfW6tvHVQa-yikLi — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.137.201.131 (talk) 00:52, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Random users playing the game on Youtube isn't going to count as a reliable source, and going off of observations based on their gameplay sessions could violate original research, so this wouldn't be a good idea. You're going to want to stick to using what reliable sources say about the game. Use articles written by websites with editorial staff and standards. Websites like GameSpot, IGN, or Eurogamer. Sergecross73 msg me 01:59, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. :( It just seems like a ton of wasted info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.137.201.131 (talk) 04:38, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't worry. With a game as popular and mainstream as this, there will be (and maybe already is) plenty of information out there on it by reliable sources too. Sergecross73 msg me 13:32, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sales information

The game debuted with sales of at least 600K in Japan. The exact figure varies, depending on your source (GameSpot or VGChartz).[1][2]-74.76.2.56 (talk) 19:23, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

VGChartz isn't a useable source on Wikipedia, but GameSpot is. I added the information to the reception section. Sergecross73 msg me 20:12, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No Q1 2013 release

For the record, for those arguing about the release date of the game, Nintendo has already released their lineup of games to be released in Q1 2013, and Animal Crossing is not on it. (It's not like Nintendo to be like "Surprise, games out in 3 weeks!" anyways, this type of thing is typically laid out months in advance, for promotion, marketing, etc.) Sergecross73 msg me 22:44, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
