The nominator thinks that the "Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary" policy is violated. In my opinion, the references however clearly show that the topic of the article is not only a word, but a notable concept, first known mainly in Japanese culture, then internationally. I have expanded the article to explain this, but more sources could be added to explain this even more clearly. Furthermore, WP:WORDISSUBJECT perhaps applies here. Any help welcomed! --Edcolins (talk) 15:32, 28 July 2013 (UTC) |

VisualEditor (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs|google) AfD discussion
Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Lacking in sources that clearly distinguish this as its own topic (several sources listed in AfD, discussion over WP:NEWS and INHERITED)
- Article is a widely known Wikipedia MediaWiki sub-project
- As open source projects go, it is likely to be used elsewhere (and has already)
- There's a Korean article (not that that counts for the AfD)
- Handy for cross-wiki navigation which would be more difficult if merged
- A good place for expanding the growing importance/feedback/effect of the editor on WP, which would not be possible in a smaller merged section Widefox; talk 13:56, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
Sting (percussion) (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs|google) AfD discussion
Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- It's nominated for deletion; the article requires sources to qualify topic notability. Northamerica1000(talk) 09:00, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
