American Dad article

You removed the image from the character section into the infobox. Several users, myself included, put the family photo near the character so as it adds depiction of the characters where they are discussed. There is already a photo in the infobox of the show title. Plus, I feel it makes the separate photo of Jeff look random and misplaced. Also, you removed the boxes that the character information was contained in. I feel because the overall amount of information, the absence of the infoboxes makes the character description look harder to read, untidy, and sort of cluttered. Do you think we could come to a consensus to revert these changes. Let me know what you think. AmericanDad86 (talk) 17:22, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The character boxes didn't seem very necessary to me and looked awkward in the article. As for the info box image I'm following the lead of The Simpsons using a main cast photo to make it easier to identify the series at first glance. As for the Jeff image I really don't think it should be there it seems like an over using of images, I'd rather leave the entire character section to be free of images. I'd personally like it a lot better to have a family group image including Jeff (especially after he returns home following the events of "Lost in Space") Grapesoda22 (talk) 19:49, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I would agree with you about Jeff. I actually think that was a very sharp observation you made as well about how it be even that much more crucial after Jeff returns from the events from Lost In Space. Can we actually find another pic that includes Jeff for the photo and replace it?
I would have to disagree with you on your point about the infobox making things look awkward. The King of the Hill article uses a similar type of infobox as there's a larger degree of characterization. I feel when there's a larger degree of characterization, infoboxes make it look easier to read. Of course it could be the case that you and I are looking at the material differently because different computer monitor types. I have noticed that many different computer monitors display Wikipedia articles differently, and don't even get me started on mobile phones. I don't know. I just liked the infoboxes there. What do you think we should do?! Are we at an impasse?! AmericanDad86 (talk) 08:45, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I meant the character info being displayed in separate boxes on the main article looked awkward. As for the cast picture its really only six characters. Same as the Family Guy and when Jeff returns even then it would only be seven, same as The Simpsons. So the numbers thing doesn't seem like a big issue. Grapesoda22 (talk) 17:59, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see what you're talking about. Personally, I thought it made it kind of organized: two parents together, their two kids together, then their three housemates. That said, I can see how it could be perceived as unconventional and thus awkward as typically they're all put together. How about adding the info boxes back and without having them separated? Also, there are a few mistakes in your edit, like the removal of Klaus's name under his description. I haven't added it back just because I'm hoping that we can come to a consensus to reincorporate the info boxes only without the separations that you object to. AmericanDad86 (talk) 21:17, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah just fix my typos, I'll get back to you soon. We can finish this for good. Grapesoda22 (talk) 21:45, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Haha! Ok, sounds good. Look forward to your return. =) AmericanDad86 (talk) 22:44, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've corrected the few errors. Also, let's keep the info boxes out as you suggested. I've gotten used to your version already. lol! AmericanDad86 (talk) 23:15, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm thinking now, you've done a lot of good for this article. Do whatever you see fit. I'll try not to get in the way. I would recommend not putting the character info in boxes, but if you want to go for it. Grapesoda22 (talk) 23:59, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How kind of you to say that. =) I'm still going to take your recommendation and leave the character info boxes out though. I must say as well that you've done a marvelous job with touching up "grammar" and "tone" on this article and others, removing the contractions and making things flow. Excellent work with that. Thanks for those edits. AmericanDad86 (talk) 13:49, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
