Mahnoor Baloch is an American born Pakistani actress, model and film director. Mahnoor, a Canadian national,[2] began her modelling career at the age of twenty three and made her TV debut in 1993 with the drama serial Marvi. She belongs to a Baloch family.

Career

She started her modelling career in the early 1980s. She appeared in the TV Commercials of very well known brand names.[3] In 1993, she made her acting debut in the TV serial (PTV Drama) Marvi which was directed by Sultana Siddiqui.[4] Although she did not appear in the lead role in this serial, her acting was appreciated by viewers. Her next series was Dusra Aasmaan. In this serial she performed the role of Abid Ali’s daughter.[5]

In 2000, Mahnoor Baloch started and directing and producing her own Drama serials. Her first serial as director was Lamhay. Lamhay drama series was highly appreciated by viewers. Pakistani well known pop singer Shahzad Roy was also in this serial. Later she planned to direct another drama series Patjhar Ki Chaioon which was also liked by viewers.[citation needed]

In 2013, she appeared in Geo TV's Eid special play Come On Hum Dum as the wife of co-star Mohib Mirza. She is set to star as the female lead in upcoming Pakistani film Main Hoon Shahid Afridi. For the role, she has filmed an item song Teri Hi Kami alongside Mathira and Humayun Saeed, directed by Saqib Malik and produced and penned by Shani and Kami. The video of the song has been criticized in the press for its raunchy scenes, and the dress the leading actresses are wearing.[6]

In 2013, Baloch made her Hollywood debut in Torn playing the role of Maryam, a mother whose teenage son is killed in an explosion at a suburban mall.[7]

She was married at the age of 15. she was born in 1970 and married in 1985.[8]

Awards

In 2011 she was given Lux Style Award for Best Actress on her role in Talafi aired by PTV.[9]
