Ismail ibn Musa Menk known Mufti Ismail Menk is a Muslim Scholar and current Grand Mufti of Zimbabwe. He is also the Head of the Fatwa Department of The Council of Islamic Scholars of Zimbabwe.

Personal life

Menk was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He is Imaam at Masjid Al Falaah in Harare. He holds a Sharia Law degree from University of Madina in Saudi Arabia.[1]

Criticism

In 2013 he was due to visit six British universities – Oxford, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Cardiff and Glasgow – but the speaking tour was cancelled after student unions and university officials expressed concern about his anti-gay views.[2][3] [2] [3]
