The sentence, "''Having been ravaged by Habsburg troops in 1552, Noyon was sold to France in 1559, under the conditions of the Treaty of Cateau-Cambrésis.''", has been copy and pasted from ''The Retreat from Mons 1914: South: The Western Front by Car, by bike and on Foot'', by Jon Cooksey, Jerry Murland, page 73. This book is not a reliable source, neither authors are historians, simply popular writers of military history. As such this sentence will be deleted. --[[User:Kansas Bear|Kansas Bear]] ([[User talk:Kansas Bear|talk]]) 03:55, 15 October 2015 (UTC) |

If Nyon was sold to France in the 1559 then John Calvin wasn't born in France
Why is John Calvin even described as French?
- NOT even born in France at the time.
- mayhap more influenced by the (nearby to Nyon) English College Douai/Doway in Flanders than whatever was officially France at the time.
- Spent more of his life in Switzerland.
- mayhap spoke better Latin and more often so than French.
- at best could be described as something life 'Latin, Romandy and French-speaking' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.68.32.34 (talk) 23:26, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
