Please have another look at the [[Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Jupiter]] discussion. The portal has been fixed during the discussion, editors are willing to keep it in good condition, and the discussion gives every indication of a "Keep" or "no consensus" result. Thanks. Baader-Meinhof phenomenon

Hello, do you think you can undelete revisions of Baader-Meinhof phenomenon which were deleted as a result of this AfC you closed? The article has effectively been revived at Baader–Meinhof effect, where Baader-Meinhof phenomenon now redirects. Even if the new article meets WP:G4, which people can evaluate only if they can see what the content of Baader-Meinhof phenomenon was, both can just be redirected to List of cognitive biases#Frequency illusion so that the content can be reused should the subject become notable in the future. Nardog (talk) 11:24, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That article was deleted 5 years ago, and that was the 4th AfD that the article had been through. I took a look at the last revision of the deleted article, and it is effectively identical to the current version of Baader-Meinhof effect, with the exception of the "Explanation" section which didn't appear in the deleted version of the article. Sorry, I'm not really seeing a valid need to undelete this deleted article. ‑Scottywong| yak _ 13:50, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If they are effectively identical, doesn't that mean the new article is lacking GFDL-compliant attribution to the revisions of the deleted article? Nardog (talk) 14:46, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
They're not word-for-word identical, it wasn't copied verbatim. They essentially have the same information presented in a different way: just a few sentences that briefly defines the term. ‑Scottywong| comment _ 19:22, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm using the recent changes search tool to search for text in recent edits. Is it possible to search for text that was added in the edits, instead of searching in the edit summaries? Jarble (talk) 13:49, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not possible with that tool. That tool uses the searches through the WP edit database. That database doesn't have a column for "text added in the edit", so the only way to search for text added in an edit would be to download the full text of every revision to a page (or every edit by a user) and comb through them to see if the search string is present in any of those edits. This could be a somewhat monumental task that would consume a lot of resources to carry out. ‑Scottywong| babble _ 00:39, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Scottywong: This problem is more difficult than I realized. Would it be possible to download only the most recent revisions of a page, instead of every revision to a specific page? Jarble (talk) 18:17, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, anything is possible. But the tool you're describing is vastly different than the one you're using. I recall that there used to be a tool (not created by me) that did this a long time ago, but I don't remember what it was called or where to find it. ‑Scottywong| express _ 14:00, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jarble: Found it, it's called WikiBlame. Actually, if you go to the revision history of a page, in the top-left corner there are a few links to "External Tools". Click on the first one called "Find addition/removal". ‑Scottywong| spout _ 14:03, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not interested in getting involved with any of this nonsense. Please leave me out of it. ‑Scottywong| yak _ 16:15, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for cleaning up my mess

Sometimes round-robin doesn't fit the job, so I'm stuck doing a suppress-redirect and G6. Appreciate you and other admins cleaning up after I do page moves sometimes :-) Steven Crossin Help resolve disputes! 03:59, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, regarding this article that was listed as AfD still hasn't been merged with the destination article. Are you able to assist pls? - Funky Snack (Talk) 11:18, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How would you like me to assist? ‑Scottywong| converse _ 15:09, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
