Gombe State College of Health Technology, Kaltungu popularly known as School of Health Technology, Kaltungo, is located adjacent to the general hospital kaltungo,[1] Gombe State Nigeria. The college has provost members of governing council and management staffs. Mr. Seni James Barka[2] was appointed the acting principal in 2012, during his regime the school was upgraded to college where he became the first provost. The school is aimed at training personels in various medical fields that include medical laboratory technicians, pharmacy technicians, community health workers, junior community health and extension workers among others.

Historical background

Gombe State College of Health Technology, Kaltungo[3] was first established in Bauchi State in the year 1977 at the temporary site of the School of midwifery premises Bauchi but was later affiliated together with the School of Nursing Bauchi in Bauchi State. The college initially started with the training of nursing aid, but later Nursing Aide was phase out and community Health Aide was started. The college was relocated to Gombe state in 1984 and later to Kaltungo local government of the state in the year 1999. the first acting principal of the college and also the first provost was Mr. Seni James Barka.[4]
