Biography
[edit]He was born in Lučica, at that time part of the Požarevac nahija in the Smederevo sanjak which at the time was part of the so-called "Belgrade Pashaluk".
Momir was a knjaz (prince) before the uprising. He joined the uprising at the very beginning, in 1804, and gathered the people in Pomoravlje and Stig. He participated in the siege of Požarevac (1804), besieging the city from Morava to Salakovac. His moat was located in Gornja Mali. Momir and Milenko Stojković cleared the southern part of the Požarevac district from the Ottomans.[1] After the liberation of Požarevac, Karađorđe made him the knazof the Principality of Moravia.
Momir had a castle in Lučica, surrounded by a palisade.
