About CoolAvenues.com About History Present Stage CoolAvenues.com is an MBA community focused website in India started in year 2000 during Internet dotcom boom days. In its initial launch, CoolAvenues.com became very popular on account of its coverage of Placement Process of IIMs (Indian Institute of Management) and starting CoolAvenues Placements Survey which was published by Business Today – one of leading Business Magazine in India.

Background

CoolAvenues.com was started by 3 IIM and IIT alumni Lokendra Tomar (IIM Lucknow), Shailesh Vickram Singh ( IIM Lucknow), and Sandeep Dhaka (IIM Ahmedabad) in order to tap the market offered by Passive Job seekers at Ivy League MBA colleges in India. Founded during dotcom boom days in India, CoolAvenues became quite visible in Indian Internet Space in 2000-2001 where it focused on carrying out on Placements Surveys in top Indian B-Schools. However post dotcom bubble bust, CoolAvenues.com abandoned to raise funding for its operations and changed its business model towards more revenue driven activities and focused on building executive search market.

Placements Survey CoolAvenues.com pioneered the trend of Placements Survey in India and was first media company to do so where it dispatched reporters to all IIMs to cover placements as it happened. Live coverage of Placements created lot of curiosity which made CoolAvenues.com very popular among MBA community. Later on CoolAvenues.com released its Placement Survey in 2000 which was jointly published by Business Today. This relationship continued for eight years where Business Today published jointly branded BT-CoolAvenues.com Placements survey from 2000 to 2007. However later CoolAvenues.com tied up with LiveMint ( A Hindustan Times and Wall Street Journal Initiative) to release its Placement Surveys and since 2007, LiveMint is publishing CoolAvenues.com Placements Surveys.

CoolAvenues.com started as a MBA Career site aimed at creating community and targetting passive job seekers. However over the period, CoolAvenues.com expanded its offering to include pre MBA population. At present the main focus of website is Management Graduates and MBA aspirants.

CoolAvenues.com has a dedicaed job board focussed on MBA Jobs and serve a wide range of clients including Cap Gemini, Deloitte, Accenture, Quardangle ( Naukri.com), Mahindra & Mahindra, among others. Apart from MBA Jobs, CoolAvenues.com has dedicated content for MBA aspirants which includes CAT (Common Admission Test)preparation, B-School FAQs, Alumni Interviews, MBA Insiders where CoolAvenues aims to address needs of MBA aspirants and tap into fast growing MBA aspirant market.
