Heavy reverts on Nathan Rees
Bidgee, you are not a new editor, so I'm not templating you, however, you violated WP:3RR on Nathan Rees, and asserted vandalism for what was clearly not vanadlism, but merely a good-faith attempt by an inexperienced editor to insert facts known to him. You should be aware that using edit warring to maintain an article, absent BLP violation (which this did not fall under), could lead to a block. The issue is not whether you were correct or not -- you were correct, the material wasn't ready for insertion -- but how you managed it, with edit warring and allegations of vandalism, which are uncivil. As an example of what you might have been able to do, instead of simply deleting the material, repeatedly, you could have moved it to Talk and actively solicited sources there. I see that the editor did eventually reply. Good luck. By the way, if you specifically request that I not post to your Talk page, you may do so, and I will use other means, such as comment in article Talk or in a report to AN/I. --Abd (talk) 15:07, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Gorton

Hi - I don't disagree with your stance in citing http://www.apmc.oph.gov.au/lib/docs/19%20Gorton%20Web.pdf for Gorton. One of the few things I know about Gorton though is that he may have opted for a quiet life in later years but I think for that page to call him a recluse is overstating it - I used to see him about at the Fyshwick Fruit Markets etc and he wasn't a recluse - just a retired citizen in my view. If they aren't quite right about that , then ...

I blocked the IP for incivility anyway - I am really down on incivility. It won't make any difference to them probably as they will have gone home for the weekend ... --Matilda talk 07:29, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tiger airways

Hi I am not sure if it is a significant problem. I oculd not find the ref in the Tiger Airways site - spent a bit of time poking around but not a lot. My issue would be more with WP:NOT - is it encyclopaedic to update a wikipedia page with this level of detail? The fact that there is no source complying with our definition of WP:RS supports perhaps the idea that it isn't encyclopaedic. I think the best place to escalate is to the Aviation wikiproject. Territory FM

The content deletion in the 104.1 Territory FM listing is because the information has been posted for malicious purposes. There are a number of other Wiki station listings who have recieved far more serious breach results and actual loss of license action, but facts of which are not listed.Lantanabelle (talk) 16:37, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rubbish. The content is and was NOT added as a malicious purposes. It's a fact (See the report cited) and 8TOP was infact lucky to keep it's permanent license (Unlike other community stations) and it's also notable. Do you work for Territory FM? Bidgee (talk) 16:45, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bidgee, you appear to be rather emotive about the subject matter especially the bit about the station being "lucky" to keep its license, may I ask are you one of those with the agenda? As for me I'm just an observer who is tired of seeing valuable resources on the web being used by people to be unkind, ungracious and pushing their own narrow barrow.Lantanabelle (talk) 17:19, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What a load of crap. I'm not part of ANY group nor agenda. Do you work for Territory FM? Just that the way you're removing the content (Also your edits) and also said "We seek editor assistance in this matter[1]" to me sounds as if Territory FM or CDU want this removed. Read the ACMA report, it states it was a serious breach which other community station have also done and lost their CBL or have had the PCBL cancelled and replaced by a TCBL and lastly have had to share with other groups.
"As for me I'm just an observer who is tired of seeing valuable resources on the web being used by people to be unkind, ungracious and pushing their own narrow barrow." I'm in no way pushing a POV but I can see that you're just doing that (POV-Pushing)! If your not going to be constructive then keep off my talk page. Bidgee (talk) 17:26, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Block

Yeah, my mistake for not looking closer as well. I've unblocked the IP but I'll keep the article on my watchlist. Black Kite 14:04, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NTD image

I think the issue with that image is that is looks like it is being used to identify the anchor, who is presumably still alive, so we could replace it with a free image. If there was an onscreen graphic for the show, that would be a better non-free image. Don't worry about trying to spend time now (when you should be visiting your mum ) though, if it gets deleted, I can always undelete it. MBisanz talk 19:53, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I'm going to have to look over this in more detail, I'll get back to you today. MBisanz talk 19:59, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I like the second image a lot better to show the TV screen shot, as opposed to the one with the anchor in it, would that be a good compromise? MBisanz talk 21:08, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: issue

Hmm, looking over this issue [2] it does seem serious, I would be willing to support and comment at a post on AN about this matter, as edit history stalking of a good user is generally inappropriate. MBisanz talk 13:21, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Within the types defined there, the difference between villages and cities is made through the addition of the population number to type:city. Any type:city is considered to be a minor city if no population is added. type:village is not recognized by the geohack extension and zooms like a big city. --- User:Docu

Sydney

At the moment, I'm up to my elbows in other stuff, so I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask to look into this situation. Could I point you at Travellingcari (talk · contribs) or Hersfold (talk · contribs) who might have a bit more time to look into the matter? Thanks. MBisanz talk 11:51, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan Rees

I did not delete material from the article I just re-arranged the material so that it ran in a logical order. I did not insert any ureferenced material. All the material was in the referenced articles such as his indentured apprenticeship. All this stuff is now on the public record in broadcast interviews etc anyway.

After your highhanded intervention the article reads awkwardly and he goes to university before he becomes an apprentice. Brilliant!

Please review the page history and post a withdrawal. Better still fix the article.

Note also School Captains in Australia and at NHS in particular are not elected as such. The position is more of an appointment. There is no campaigning by candidates as is portrayed in popular culture from the US. Year 11 students are given the opportunity to select names from a short list drawn up by staff. The "winners" of that "poll" are not automatically school captains as the school executive make the final selection taking into account the "poll" results to a greater or lesser extent. In fact those who top the poll may not be appointed as prefects at all. Albatross2147 (talk) 13:48, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I stand by my comment. You did remove content "He had worked as a greenskeeper and as a garbage collector for Parramatta Council.[3]" which was sourced (which you even left behind) and then you added unsourced content "Tired of academic study he eschewed a university education to become an apprentice horticulturist." in the very same edit. Re: Section review on an Article

I've asked a few editors on the opinion of the section in the 104.1 Territory FM article. Please leave your comments below. Bidgee (talk) 18:13, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan Rees - Early Life

Hello, I have tried to add information to the Biography of Nathan Rees but you said it was deleted as it was not cited.

The information I woud like to add is:

"During 2001 / 2002, Rees was a member of Girraween Athletics Club Inc. and specialised in middle distance events."

... elaborating on his earlier life.

I am President of Girraween Athletics Club Inc. and our club records verify the additions I have made.

Regards
