Quantum computing article issues.

hello, id like to ask if you could look over the article titled "Quantum computing" (link below). a significant portion of the article is unsourced and unorganised among other issues.

link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_computing#Portable_(Desktop)_Quantum_Computers

-thank you very much for this.

RJJ4y7 (talk) 19:27, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@RJJ4y7: I made a bunch of changes to references and minor fixes. I also added links from many other articles to Quantum computing (There are many more you could add if you like). For the unsourced/unorgainzed issues, I suggest you post a couple examples on Talk:Quantum computing to see if editors who follow the page would be able to help out. Happy editing! WikiProject Musical instruments

Hello,

Your bot recently made changes to talk:Sintir that concern me. I have been updating tags for Wikipedia:WikiProject Musical Instruments as I find them. Your bot made a problematic change: for some reason if the project's full name is used in the tag {{WikiProject Musical Instruments|... it causes the article statistics table to (often) not record information for that article. To function correctly, the tag needs to be {{WPMusInst|.... It would be better if the bot converted {{WikiProject Musical Instruments|... to {{WPMusInst |....

Since your bot is updating these tags, there is another change it could make that would really help. When it encountered the WikiProject's tag, the tag read {{WPMusInst |quality=stub |auto=yes |importance=... Someone tagged a bunch of these with "quality" when they should have typed "class". The articles come up "unassessed" when tagged like that, and it is causing me to have to find them (mostly by accident) and change them as I find them. An ideal tag would read {{WPMusInst |class= |importance=...

If it can correct that, it would be very helpful, indeed. Thank you for creating such a useful tool, Jacqke (talk) 11:46, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jacqke: Template:WPMusInst redirects to Template:WikiProject Musical Instruments. The only reason I'm changing the redirect is to take advantage of AutoWikiBrowser's general fixes to add the Template:WikiProject banner shell when appropriate. I see you have already reverted the change to Talk:Sintir. Could you please show me an example of where a talk page with {{WikiProject Musical Instruments}} does not show in the article statistics table?
The source for Template:WikiProject Musical Instruments shows that |quality= is an alias of |class=. I see that Talk:Electric instrument has <code>{{WPMusInst |quality=stub |auto=yes |importance=}}</code> but is correctly categorized in Category:Stub-Class musical instruments articles. Could you please show me an example of where the categorization isn't correct when the |quality= field is used? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 22:29, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ill have to get back to you on the first issue. I tried to make it recreate it with a recent article, Tifa totobuang, and can't. However the second issue is showing. I changed "class" to "quality", and on the article's page it comes up unassessed instead of stub. It is listed on the article statistics table in the right place, however. I'm going to work finding other examples. _Jacqke (talk) 02:01, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jacqke: I don't see the word unassessed on Tifa totobuang. Could you please show me an example of the problem before you fix it? GoingBatty (talk) 02:28, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jacqke: I just reviewed all the talk pages containing {{WPMusInst}} and manually added {{WikiProject banner shell}} where needed so my bot doesn't change it to {{WikiProject Musical Instruments}} as part of the edit. GoingBatty (talk) 03:37, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jacqke: Would you be able to determine which of the {{WPMusInst}} should be removed from Talk:Dutar? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 02:53, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This should be class a mid importance. Jacqke (talk) 03:42, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jacqke: OK - I removed the duplicate template. GoingBatty (talk) 03:48, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Intelligent laser speckle

Hi,

I have added some more independent references into the article text as a solution.

Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Orunab (talkcontribs) 22:03, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Orunab: It appears you repeated the six references that were already there and added a seventh. I have cleaned up the references for you. You are welcome to continue improving the article and participate in the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Intelligent laser speckle classification. GoingBatty (talk) 23:56, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

adding a new references

In addition, I have replaced the 2. reference as the earlier one was not in use anymore.

Further progress in Laser speckle imaging:

According to recent scientific discoveries, it has been proven that Laser speckle phenomenon has link with quantum turbulence which is called "quantum turbulence of laser speckle" as the related works were conducted by a scientific group [8]

@Orunab: I fixed that reference as well. I hope you can view the article source to see how the <ref>...</ref> tags should be used. You don't need to tell me every time you add a reference - it's more important for you to post to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Intelligent laser speckle classification to explain why the article should not be deleted. A kitten for you!

Belated thanks for proactively arranging the redirect of the search term "Pat Pitney" to the existing page "Pat Spurgin" in response to my posting at the Teahouse. It would not have occurred to me to ask for that useful redirection.

Replying to your message

Cannot figure out how to use my talk page to reply to you.

Yes, the section header size problems were after the table of contents.

With both the Brave browser and Safari, the problems only appeared when using the website view, not the mobile view. BiliousBob (talk) 10:08, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@BiliousBob: Seems that you've discovered the pattern. You could report the issue at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical) and see if anyone can determine how to fix it. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 23:38, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much. BiliousBob (talk) 06:39, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Olšina (Ralsko)

Thank you GoingBatty for your feedback and advice. I have added {{subst:sumbit}} at the top of my draft. I hope I did it right. You can check it when you can. Thanks. Kirk Haggerty — Preceding unsigned comment added by KPHaggerty (talkcontribs) 15:20, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@KPHaggerty: Replied at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Draft:Olšina (Ralsko). Sorry about misspelling "submit" GoingBatty (talk) 17:05, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks GoingBatty

I went to the manual of style as you suggested, and posted there. Do you think it was the right place? Anywhere else I should try? Here is a copy of what I posted on the talk page there: "I think photos, videos, animations, drawings, paintings, or virtual reality or other images in 3D or 2D, that, like most maps, face due north and are labelled accordingly are best. This way, the orientation of things in the picture is made known to the reader.I think photos should by default face due north. Astronomy images, photos or whatever, likewise should come with indication of orientation, so right ascension and declination of a single point are not enough, there needs to be some indication of which way up the image is, which is best provided by indicating which way it is to the celestial north pole. This is especially urgent with images of galaxies and planets which are frequently upside down (not necessarily in Wikipedia) if I can say that (because of how telescopes work, I think). I think astronomy images by default should have celestial north up." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arctic Gazelle (talkcontribs) 18:41, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Arctic Gazelle: I see your post was moved to Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Images#Facing north should be preferred, which seems to be the right place. I see the Statue of Liberty argument there, and was thinking something similar about the White House. You might want to give some specific examples in that thread explaining how your proposed change would benefit Wikipedia's readers. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 22:04, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for all your help. And thanks for the encouragement. I actually think the photo of the back of the Statue of Liberty makes a pleasant and interesting change from the usual view. Who could forget that the statue faces (due?) north having seen it? I didn't know it faced north. Now I do. Arctic Gazelle (talk) 23:37, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
