It’s a revert of another undiscussed move (in the other direction) but that was over year ago and this article has established stability at the concise title in that time. Revision as of 16:44, 19 October 2021
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Edit this section if you want to move a request from Uncontroversial to Contested.
Uncontroversial technical requests
Administrator needed
Edit this section if a request requires an administrator (e.g., because the page to be moved is move-protected or the target is creation-protected). Place the request in another section if it only requires a page mover.
Contested technical requests
- Track (rail transport) (currently a redirect to Railway track) → Railroad track (currently a redirect instead to Railway track) (move · discuss) – per clear primary usage and to avoid unnecessary disambig. The redirect history has some IP vandalism so can't be moved by me. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 13:29, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- This is clearly not an uncontroversial move, given that "railroad" is terminology that isn't used in the UK and other places. I would oppose this move and suggest the current title is best. — Amakuru (talk) 15:52, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- "Railroad" indeed isn't used in British English, the only way I knew of that term was from reading about American Monopoly. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:05, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- Same! Dr. Vogel (talk) 16:17, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- The discussion on the page was uncontroversial that the current title is dubious. "Railway track" can also work, if that is what bothers you. Both terms are unambiguous, though, and recognisable enough that they're certainly better ways to do this than the current title. See also [1]. Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Aloys II, Prince of Liechtenstein → Aloys II (currently a redirect back to Aloys II, Prince of Liechtenstein) (move · discuss) – Undiscussed move. It’s a revert of another undiscussed move (in the other direction) but that was over year ago and this article has established stability at the concise title in that time. A revert after that much time is clearly controversial and requires an RM. В²C ☎ 16:44, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
