Welcome to my talk page. Here are some tips to help you communicate with me:

  • Please continue any conversation on the page where it was started.
    • If I have left a message on your talk page please DO NOT post a reply here. I will have your talk page on watch and will note when you have replied.
  • Add or respond to an existing conversation under the existing heading.
    • Indent your comment when replying by using an appropriate number of colons ':'.
    • Create a new heading if the original conversation is archived.
  • To initiate a new conversation on this page, please click on this link.
  • You should sign your comments. You can do this automatically by typing four tildes (~~~~).

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalise Wikipedia, as you did to User:RM21/Table 2, you will be blocked from editing. AzaToth 21:37, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I would just like to point out that the IP address above is a proxy address for members of Loughborough University, so you may wish to make others aware of this. Isn't there a means of capturing network addresses??
In this instance, I was merely requesting a {.{db-user}} as User:RM21. I hope you won't consider this request negatively, or indeed block this network address. (RM21 21:50, 2 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Have added a sharedipedu template on actual IP. AzaToth 21:57, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Barnstar

The da Vinci Barnstar
For the creation of the twinklespeedy script, which far surpasses everything I've seen to date, here, have dis barnstar. ツ Миша13 23:49, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for WP:TWINKLE

Just like to say that twinkle is bloody FAST...... when I refreshed my monobook in Firefox right after changing to twinkle, I was very surprised that it loaded in almost no time at all! Again, thanks. Flyingtoaster1337 09:34, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. You should link to your marvellous piece of work from your user page instead of forcing people to dig for the link in article histories or watchlists... :) Flyingtoaster1337 09:36, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One question: When I edit a user talk page, I see a [1] tab next to the watch tab. When I click on it, nothing happens. Is there something wrong with my monobook.js? I'm using Firefox 2.0.0 with the only plugin installed being one that highlights the active form control. Flyingtoaster1337 12:14, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll see about a link. About the [1], it should be a meny to the good faith warnings, twinklewarn consist of 4 + 1 such menus. at the moment it requires addlimenu script, I have though of replacing it. AzaToth 15:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have that [1] thing also, and it's the only thing I have on firefox (I still can't see the warnings when editing a user talk page!) BTW, they just made two new sets of templates. Are these automatically added, or will you have to do it?--TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 20:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aha! I've found the CSS that's needed to make the [1] do something. :-) It didn't work because the Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Add LI menu script needs modifications to monobook.css as well. The required chunk of CSS is on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Add LI menu. Flyingtoaster1337 23:26, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Go flying toaster! You fixed my problem! I can now use the warnings in Mozilla. However, when I hover over the level four warnings, instead of the list popping up like on the rest, it flickers on and off at a very fast speed and the warnings are unclickable. --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 00:14, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thats a common problem with addlimenu, if the window is too small, it might flicker, I have been thinking of replacing that code with something more elaborate. the only solution now is to resize the window to make it bigger. AzaToth 00:15, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My window is fully sized. And I didn't even know the CSD button showed the explanation of the letter+number next to it. It's great! --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 00:21, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
the speedy thingi works like this, if you are an ordinary user, you'll request speedy deletion, if you are an admin, it will delete it, with the criteria in the deletion summary, see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/delete&page=User_talk:Misza13/Sandbox AzaToth 00:23, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As I was looking at Misza's, I saw something I commonly see. "(content was: 'yoyoyoyoyo' (and the only contributor was 'Misza13'))". Is that automatically entered by the MediaWiki software? ANd like I said before, if the window can't be made larger, what can I do? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TeckWiz (talkcontribs) 00:27, 30 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Dunno, I have also had that problem, if the window is too small, the problem I think is that the menu isn't abolute, but only relative, and thus interfere with the layout. AzaToth 00:33, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And as I asked before: I see that the new warning templates created today have already been added. Is it added automatically because it's on the warnings page or do you need to add it? --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 00:41, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I need to add them manually. AzaToth 00:42, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess the level four not working is ok, because it only doesn't work when I use it in the normal browser. When I click the rollback button and it opens the new window, the new window doesn't have a few things, so it allows the level 4 to show. I didn't even know it automatically remembered the page it rolled back so you don't have to type it in manually! I'm discovering more amazing things about this script every second! --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 01:01, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've a suggestion for extra functionality: Can twinkle be made to include the wikilinked page name in the edit summary when warning vandals? It'd be nice because (for example) I can see whether a previously-created spam/nonsense page has been re-created by looking at the edut summary. Flyingtoaster1337 15:01, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added. AzaToth 17:17, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Lovely! Thank you again. Flyingtoaster1337 17:32, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm: It's not adding it to my summary. Also, on the level four menu, when I go to use a level four warning, I can only use the first 3 warnings. When I try to go to any warning below them, they just disappear and start flashing to the right again, making them unusable. --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 20:45, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Try changing to the css I added to WP:TWINKLE AzaToth 21:21, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For some reason, I can't use th import script on the CSS. I must manually copy it. Though that happened, it fixed my problem, made the tabs for all things (your tool and not) look cooler, and now allow me to use the level 4 warnings in my regular browser (previously level 4 would only work in the one that popped up). Now I only have one minor problem left:If I open up 2 diffs, and revert both, both user talk pages won't open. The first one will open, but then by clicking the second one, the second one opens in the same popup window, and you must hit back to get to the first one, where if you warn the first one, you will loose the history of the window and will not be able to go forward again. Is there a way to make it open in a different window or tab? --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 21:35, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

have added this now:

var twinklefluffForceOpenUserTalkPageInNewTab = false;
var twinklefluffForceOpenUserTalkPageInNewWindow = false;

AzaToth 21:58, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm no coding genius, but shouldn't it be =true? I'm guessing this because it's still doing the same thing. --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 22:35, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you should use one of them in your monobook.js and set it to true. AzaToth 22:39, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have entered
var twinklefluffForceOpenUserTalkPageInNewTab = true;

into my monobook right after all the import scripts for twinkle and it doesn't seem to be working. (I have cached by browser so that's not the problem) --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 22:57, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Try to add var twinklefluffForceOpenUserTalkPageInNewTab = true; now. AzaToth 23:28, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay here's the strange thing: I do this, and then every time it tries to work FireFox blocks the popup of the user talk, though Wikipedia is on my safe list. Then, when I completely turn the blocker off, it still says "FireFox has blocked this website from opening...." in the ribbon. --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 01:57, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Azatoth, I saw the great work you did on the other barnstar ribbons, and would like to ask if you would mind creating one for The LGBT Barnstar? We'd be grateful. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 16:13, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

The da Vinci Barnstar
I, TeckWiz, award AzaToth a barnstar for creating the most amazing script ever!. It includes every warning known to man and allows you to specify the article parameter on it. It also includes every speedy reason known to man (it even lists the reasons next to the codes you can't remember, like G4!) Thanks for this amazing scipt!--TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 00:25, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is there supposed to be a rollback function? John Reaves (talk) 23:43, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do you mean? AzaToth 00:16, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't one (at least when looking at a user's contributions). I was wondering if there was supposed to be one and if, maybe, it wasn't working. John Reaves (talk) 00:59, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Will add revert functionallity to user contrib page, havn't just got to it yet AzaToth 01:05, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay thanks. Another question, did VoiceofAll's script have the "view user's groups" function (indicated by a '$' tab), or was that a separate script that I accidentally deleted? And do you intend to add that feature as well? John Reaves (talk) 01:19, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
One more, why does the user warning function add the warning as a subsection (or ===Warning===) instead of a normal section? John Reaves (talk) 01:25, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have added the lniks to contrib pages now, thou only for "normal" reverts. AzaToth 02:12, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yet an other barnstar, this time to thank you for all your contributions to WP:UW. Keep up the good work! (And I am definitely going to check these scripts of yours, they seem impressive!) -- lucasbfr talk 12:02, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

twinklewarn.js addition

I didn't want to just edit on you, but I think the [4] tab also needs {{returnvandal-n}}. However, that template has a slightly different format, when you {{subst}} it, your signature is within the template already. I only glanced at the JavaScript, is there a way to handle that easily? It's one I use more than I wish I had... — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 14:12, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have asked on the Template:Returnvandal-n(edit talk links history) talk page why the sigs are there. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 15:28, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have only used the uw- prefixed templates. returnvandal looks like a single level template, and those are not yet done, but when they are, I will add them to twinklewarn. AzaToth 16:19, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good; I had said [4] just because of that... Thanks for the cool toy(s)! — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 16:27, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wind power

I apologize if I did not revert to the correct page, however the Wind Power page had been vandalized and I attempted to revert to the previous version. Thank you for your concern on this subject. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 18.19.1.36 (talk) 15:37, 31 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Wait, what just happened? Have I just warned myself by mistake and then been told off for it? Sorry, I was paying attention to more important things than what messages other users leave on their own talk pages... – Qxz 18:50, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem :) AzaToth 18:51, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Twinklefluff

Hi. Thank you so much for a great tool. Wish I'd discovered it sooner. One question: why are the reversions not marked as minor? Thanks. Xiner (talk, email) 21:56, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's a strange question, as they should be marked as minor, I'll lok into it. AzaToth 22:09, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. AzaToth 22:14, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Thanks. Now a feature request...is it at all possible to take the browser back to the article history page after a reversion? There's really no need to look at the restored version after a revert, and it'd be more useful to check whether any new edits got erased by chance. Thanks again for the script. Xiner (talk, email) 21:40, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I looked into it, but currently It seems rather difficult. If I can learn a way to send a POST via XMLHTTPRequest, then it would be possible. AzaToth 16:12, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't alter other users' talk pages

Hi AzaToth,

Please don't alter the colors on other users' talk pages as you did here. If you don't like the colors, discuss it with the user in question or don't visit the page. The flashing ALERT message at the top of your page indicates you like flashy, garish colors, so I don't know why you felt the need to adjust someone else's talk page to remove garish colors. Best wishes, Firsfron of Ronchester 23:29, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

that I can understand, but I felt that the colors was a bit to heavy. about my "flashing" image ontop of my talk page, it was an old joke, and I have kept it there, mostly for fun. I hate flashy "garish" colors, always trying to find the best solution so that no one feel ill when looking at a page,, as for example, you should always blend a color, not only choose parts from one or two domains, bur from all three, if you want the color #00fafa, you should blend it as #aafafa. Twinkle question

Would you mind looking at my monobook file to see if I did it right? It seems to be working (neat tool!) but I want to make sure thats appropriate usage... ty. - Denny 22:04, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You would also need the css defined for limenu. AzaToth 23:58, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks I'll try that. - Denny 00:02, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Minor/Non-minor edits on Twinkle

Presently, reverts and notices on user talks are minor. "Revert to revision #" isn't marked minor. I think the "revert to revision" should be changed to minor, and warnings on the user talk should be made non-minor. Can this be changed if you agree? Also, what does the "twinklediff" scipt do--TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 22:57, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have fixed that. the twinklediff is just a couple of tabs that gives diff since previous contributor, and diff since you. AzaToth 23:53, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. For some reason the diff thing isn't working for me, but it really doesn't matter that much. I like the final button the reports the person to AIV with the preloaded reason. However, could you make it appears on the editing page of the user talk also. This is because if you revert a vandal, it opens up the editing page, and then you may see that a final warning has already been given. If it has, you must go to the actual page and click it. Also, you probably don't know why, but once again, FireFox is blocking the popups trying to open the user talk, yet the blocker is turned off and wikipedia is on the safe list. --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 00:03, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
for me I have the tabs Report and (final) on the edit page. the diff function have been working somewhat, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't :/ AzaToth 00:06, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. That's strange, because I don't have the final button on the edit one. And do you know why FireFox is doing the thing I said in my comment above. --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 00:08, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind about both. I have fixed the blocking problem, and the (final) button appears when editing, but only when editing the popups (not when editing a user talk page in a normal window). I would like to thank you for taking the time to answer/fix mine and everyone elses' questions regarding TWINKLE (by the way, I like how in the summary it only says Twinkle in it instead of "maintenance by Twinkle") --TeckWizTalk Contribs@ 01:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

replacement of AIV removal.

Thank you for your concern. First off, here is my rationale for removal. here last warning is at 18:31. here last contrib is at 18:30 (still no edits since and user has not been blocked. at 18:34 i viewed that the vandal had not repeated and removed them from the list. This removal was not in err, however me choosing not to enforce a punitive block, which is against wikipedia blocking pilicy. Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 18:44, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand. My script WP:TWINKLE has a lot of automagic builtin, and is rather fast. the final warning was added just before my script popped up the user talk page, and I the saw a final warning had bben given, so I then pushed my "(final)" button that will report it directly as vandalism after final warning to AIV. AzaToth 18:49, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Let me assure you, it was not me ignoring your additions. For every block I enforce, I always view the last warning time and the lst edit time. If there is a significant difference, I assume they got scared when that yellow you have messages box popped up and left it alone! If they have repeated than BAM, i slap a block on em. By the way, thanks for your great vandal fighting. Here is a special prize for such! -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 18:55, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
