Comment request

Any chance you could comment at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Lists#List_of_largest_cities_by_U._S._state_historically.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 05:15, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@TonyTheTiger:, I added some comments there and started sandboxing it here User:Tcr25/sandbox. There are a few issues that'll need to be thought through. First, isolating the data isn't very straightforward. Second, List of U.S. states and territories by historical population attributes population based on modern state boundaries (so Dakota Territory figures from the 1870 Census is split between North and South Dakota; West Virginia data prior to 1870 is extracted from Virginia data; etc.); would you want to do the same here? Or just use data from after each state was acquired. Another factor would be deciding what "city" means. In 1810, Alexandria County, D.C. as the largest subdivision within the District of Columbia, but Washington City was the largest municipality. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 16:24, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the second point, look at List of most populous cities in the United States by decade and how in 1790 and 1800 several places in the 10 ten are now parts of Philadelphia. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 17:53, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Something about your radio user box

I was thinking if you can add a variant to the radio userbox you made that says "This user listens to weather radio". That exact text in quotation marks would be utilized if you add WX to the code. Let me know if added. CanadianAndNYer (talk) 03:16, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done Easy enough addition. Thanks for asking CanadianAndNYer. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 03:25, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much. CanadianAndNYer (talk) 03:26, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of largest cities of U.S. states and territories by historical population

Great work on List of largest cities of U.S. states and territories by historical population. You should probably talk to an admin and have the article history moved over too.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 03:12, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Given that I was the only editor involved, I don't think the history of me building out the tables incrementally adds much. Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 03:32, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So how do we have 1800 NC #s, but not 1810?-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 16:12, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's what the census report showed. The NC file shows no city-level reporting for 1810, but does have figures for 1800 and 1820 and later. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 16:34, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
User:Tcr25, I'll take your word for it.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 05:19, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No need to take my word for it; it's clear in the reference (linked above and on the page). —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 14:24, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Why does the name not have a space between U. and S.?--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 05:20, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
MOS:US ... —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 14:24, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that makes sense, but if you feel like it would be helpful, be my guest... --Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 03:52, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding to prevent Bang-Maithili dialect of Maithili.

No, it is known by that name and is famous by the same name.If we change its name it will lose its identity. He has a strong relation with Maithili. You can Check the Wikipedia page of Maithili language there also mentioned that Bang-Maithili is a Dialect of Maithili language. In Begushorai mostly people spoke Standard Maithili with Thethi Maithili. And Bang-Maithili is always count in third or Other language of Begushorai.Due to Minority of Bang-Maithili people and lack of evidence everyone want to remove us that is so unfair and Unjustice. 2405:204:138B:E9E9:E1C1:34FB:178A:E4C6 (talk) 14:46, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
