I am trying to expand this article, first in Spanish and then translating it into English. It is about researching and finding the historical data for an institution that is almost 5 centuries old. It is an institution that is currently functioning, so I will place the entire historical part at the end of the article, as I have done in Spanish.

== Dates ==

Lately there is a kind of edition war in this article. Let's discuss them here.

It is intended to put 1580 as the origin, when most of the sources (provided by a user who wants to put that date) affirm that in 1580 the Spanish Crown, in its territories (New Spain), introduced a postal system.

This article is not about the history of postal mail in what is now Mexico, but about the current public company that provides these services (Correos de México), which was officially created by law in 1986 and later renamed.

I have to say that there is already a specific article that talks about the postal history of Mexico, where the entire process is detailed up to today ([[Postage stamps and postal history of Mexico]]). Extension and historical development of the article

I am trying to expand this article, first in Spanish and then translating it into English. It is about researching and finding the historical data for an institution that is almost 5 centuries old. It is an institution that is currently functioning, so I will place the entire historical part at the end of the article, as I have done in Spanish. --Fittipaldi92 (talk) 17:58, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dates

Lately there is a kind of edition war in this article. Let's discuss them here.

It is intended to put 1580 as the origin, when most of the sources (provided by a user who wants to put that date) affirm that in 1580 the Spanish Crown, in its territories (New Spain), introduced a postal system.

This article is not about the history of postal mail in what is now Mexico, but about the current public company that provides these services (Correos de México), which was officially created by law in 1986 and later renamed.

I have to say that there is already a specific article that talks about the postal history of Mexico, where the entire process is detailed up to today (Postage stamps and postal history of Mexico). 216.147.106.108 (talk) 08:53, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
