I am not convinced that the inclusion of North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board in the private sector section of Template:Sustainable development in Scotland is right. The organisation was specifically a public body, as there was political unease at private companies being responsible for the management of such natural resources at the time, and a number of private schemes were voted down by the Commons on that basis. There is not a "State sector" section in the template, and I wonder if the "Private sector" section would be better as "Organisations". I raise the issue here rather than just altering the template, as I am not sure that it will get spotted if I put it on the talk page for the template, and I think it deserves discussion. Who looks at such talk pages anyway? Any thoughts? Bob1960evens (talk) 17:40, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

Glasgow Life artcile
Refreshed attempt to get an article together on Glasgow Life, the charitable body that manages cultural and sports in Glasgow. It's here: Draft:Glasgow Life - I've incorporated previous feedback from my previous efforts on this draft. Alas life got in the way and wasn't able to follow-through in 2021, but really hope to do so over next wee while.

Would appreciate any further feedback from any Scotland based editors. I genuinely feel there's a strong case for this charitable entity to have its own Wikipedia page. Have endeavoured to make that case in the reviewed opening paragraph,

Lowland Scots people

A sizeable Lowland Scots people article has appeared today. It's copiously referenced but my initial impression is that, at least to some extent, it may be advancing original research or synthesising sources to advance a thesis not fully supported by them. Also, if what it says is of significance, it would surely already be covered in this project by now? Mutt Lunker (talk) 23:28, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with your assessment from what I've read. Some of it is somewhat contradictory and some of the fulsome reference explanations, in my opinion anyway, don't justify the interpretations reached. I think scrutiny of the sources is needed. Willing to do some of that as time permits. Bill Reid | (talk) 16:33, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't looked into the references themselves but my initial suspicion is this has been created with selective sources (see Background section in particular) as a means to reinforce the idea that lowland Scottish people are the same as English people in all significant historical aspects, thus diminishing Scots as a separate modern-day cultural identity. Scots Gaelic people has similarly sprung into existence, with similar concerns. Mutt Lunker (talk) 20:32, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oban railway station clean-up needed

Hi, participants may be interested in helping 'restore' this page - and the other stations along the Oban branch line - with more inline references (when I found this page earlier today, I think there was one in total). Please do contribute if you are able to. Thanks. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 07:25, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Further down the line, if anyone would like to - or be able to - help with cleaning up the "Rockfall Risk" section on the page about the Falls of Cruachan derailment, it would be most appreciated. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 15:41, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is a requested move discussion at Talk:Death and state funeral of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani#Requested move 25 September 2022 that may be of interest to members of this WikiProject. UtherSRG (talk) 10:50, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That probably was cryptic... why do we care about that? This RM involves about 50 state funeral articles, including at least one that is related to this WP. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:16, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
