My edit was not vandalism. Yesterday Liberia played a match and Dorley scored a goal. Why didn't you check this before you deleted my edit? Refrain from judging others too easily. Wolfgang (talk) 17:41, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As per my edit summary - I checked a source, and even if a recent game/goal was missing, your edit was wrong. GiantSnowman 18:14, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Officiousness is worse than fascism. Wolfgang (talk) 21:39, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you calling me a fascist?! WP:NPA. GiantSnowman 13:27, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

General apology for moving forward

Hello GiantSnowman. We've interacted with each other on Wikipedia for quite some time now, almost four years. Just wanted to say that I still really respect your work here, and additionally, sorry for my aggressive language on Talk:Ethan Mbappé, I should have been more respectful at times. I just felt really strongly about my opinion on this issue. Moving forward hopefully we can collaborate more and work together more succesfully! Apologies once again, Paul Vaurie (talk) 23:42, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No apology needed (from either party) - yes we both have strong views but it's been a productive discussion and I certainly have no ill feelings or similar! Looking forward to working together again in the future. GiantSnowman 08:45, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Check before undo

Please double check before you make an incorrect edit like you did on Theo Vassell. You tagged it as poor grammar when the grammar was fine and your edit was actually the poor grammar. User:Jordca97. 16:34, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Two edits in playoffs" is not good grammar. GiantSnowman 16:37, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FIFA Arab Cup naming

I just thought about it, can you explain why are main title of La Liga or Ligue 1 articles not presented with their partner, EA Sports and Uber Eats while this applies for Arab Cup and FIFA ? Wokemanwhowalks (talk) 01:35, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We do not use sponsored names. GiantSnowman 08:24, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
FIFA is also a sponsor since it is a foreign entity to the UAFA. Wokemanwhowalks (talk) 13:32, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, it is not. GiantSnowman 13:36, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are not FIFA and UAFA independant of each other ? Wokemanwhowalks (talk) 13:40, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, claiming that FIFA'a involvement makes them a 'sponsor'. If that is the limit of your argument, then no wonder consensus is against you. GiantSnowman 13:40, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Consensus is against me because Hashim-afc has 15000 edits. To my mind that's defined as a sponsor because FIFA is not a creator of this competition and it's not affiliated to founders. Wokemanwhowalks (talk) 13:46, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is not the reason why consensus is against you. GiantSnowman 14:55, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is no other reason, on all editions there is one partnership with FIFA, this is not relevant to rename Arab Cup to FIFA Arab Cup. It's like renaming Ligue 1 to Ligue 1 Uber Eats. Wokemanwhowalks (talk) 15:09, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not the same at all, as I and others at the article talk page have explained. GiantSnowman 15:10, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, was 1963 Arab Cup (first édition of FIFA Arab Cup) in partnership with FIFA ? Do you see the nonsense ? Wokemanwhowalks (talk) 15:20, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We use the current name of the competition for the main article, and the contemporary name for individual tournament articles. This has already been explained to you (using the AFCON example) - why don't you understand that? GiantSnowman 15:24, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The comparison is irrelevant because the competition and the association which organizes it, have been affiliated with FIFA therefore recognized de facto since the beginning. Wokemanwhowalks (talk) 15:35, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
