The Revision as of 12:57, 30 June 2015, removed most of what had been a photo on line 1 of the code, leaving only the following snippet after the infobox: "in the 1850s[3]]]" This snippet has been all that appears as the first line of the article. The 2015 edit moved the photo, Image:HorticulturalSociety PublicGarden Boston.jpg, into the History section of the page. I've now removed the snippet, and moved the reference to the online version of the photo into the caption of the photo.[[User:NewtonCourt|NewtonCourt]] ([[User talk:NewtonCourt|talk]]) 11:21, 18 April 2016 (UTC) |

You say the name was ''Boston Horticultural Society''. 1. Document it. 2. How does name ''Massachusetts Horticultural Society'' in its [https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=loc.ark:/13960/t6c25q17z&view=1up&seq=11 1st proceedings], Boston, 1829, not contradict that? |

Good start. But much more needed. Most of the history is a tabula rasa. I mean, Daniel Webster rising to introduce the widow of Alexander Hamilton at that Mass Hort dinner in Faneuil Hall in 1845? Hunnewell's Great Rhododendron Exhibition of 1873, which drew 40,000 to Boston Common, and Frederick Law Olmsted coming up from NYC to see it? Its famous presidents like Marshall Pinckney Wilder? Or Francis Parkman, Jr., honored on a U.S. postage stamp? Mass Hort's impact on America? |
