GPT-4o (GPT-4 omni) is a mutli-lingual, multi-modal generative pretrained transformer trained by OpenAI. GPT-4o was released on 13 May 2024.[1] The model is twice faster than its predecessor GPT-4 while being 50% of the price. It was announced by OpenAI's CTO Mira Murati during an OpenAI livestreamed demo.[1] OpenAI has claimed the model will be free for all users.[2]
Capabilities
GPT-4o achieves state-of-the-art results in voice, multilingual and vision benchmarks, setting new records in audio speech recognition and translation.[3] GPT-4o scores 88.7 on the MMLU benchmark compared to 86.5 by GPT-4.[3]
The model supports over 50 languages, covering over 97% of spoken languages.
It is currently the leading model in the LMSYS Elo Arena Benchmarks.[4]
