In literature it does not seem that gametophore is the accepted terminology for what this page is describing. Rather, in Marchantia this seems to be the 'gametangiophore' <ref>https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35976122/</ref><ref>https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26116421/</ref>. In Physcomitrella mosses, the plants transition from protonema/caulonema to gametophore<ref>https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29395927/</ref> - this seems to be an acceptable use of the term. Renaming page to "Gametangiophore"?
In literature it does not seem that gametophore is the accepted terminology for what this page is describing. Rather, in Marchantia this seems to be the 'gametangiophore' [1][2]. In Physcomitrella mosses, the plants transition from protonema/caulonema to gametophore[3] - this seems to be an acceptable use of the term. Frunk10 (talk) 10:41, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
