History
ONIC Esports was established on 28 July 2018. Initially, the team initially had only an esports division in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang which started to participate in MPL Indonesia during Season 2. [1]
Partnership with Fnatic
On 20 May 2024, ONIC Esports' sister team ONIC Philippines partnered with the Dutch-based organization Fnatic ahead of the MPL Philippines playoffs.[2] As the main roster for the ONIC franchise in Mobile Legends, a day later on 21 May 2024, ONIC Esports announced their own partnership with Fnatic through an Instagram post that signified the ONIC porcupine logo embedded with the Fnatic logo.[3] This signifies Fnatic's entry in the MLBB professional scene alongside Team Liquid whom acquired STUN.GG, owners of AURA Fire and ECHO Philippines, the latter being renamed to Liquid ECHO.
Season 10 (2022)
On 4 July 2022, ONIC Esports announced the acquisition of player Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol and coach Denver "Yeb" Miranda from their MPL Philippines franchise team, ONIC Philippines. Became the first Filipino player import in the professional league of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.[4]
ONIC Esports had a good kick-off after the 2-0 match against the Indonesian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team Rebellion Zion with the first match of their import Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol on his first match that leads to a 4/0/11 KDA. In the second game, they secured the lord on the 10-minute mark focusing only on the destroying the base which leads to victory against the enemy team.[5]
