Captain Barbossa and Elizabeth Swann pay Feng a visit at his bathhouse in Singapore, hoping to acquire a ship and a crew to sail to Davy Jones' Locker. Feng is suspicious of their intentions and informs them that earlier that day someone broke into his uncle's temple and tried to steal the Navigational Charts. He reveals the thief to be Will Turner, asking Barbossa and Elizabeth if they are in any way affiliated with him. The two deny it, but when Feng threatens to kill Turner, Elizabeth lets out a gasp, accidentally confirming that they are allied. Aware that the three are trying to sail to Davy Jones' Locker, Feng inquires why they wish to go there. Barbossa explains that the Brethren Court has been summoned and that Feng, being one of the nine Pirate Lords, is obliged to honor his place in the Court and hence must attend the meeting at Ship Wreck Cove. Feng points out that his question was not answered, forcing Will (through Barbossa) to reveal why he and the others wish to sail to the Locker: to save Captain Jack Sparrow. Having had a bad history with Sparrow, Feng becomes enraged and declares that he would only resurrect Sparrow to kill him in person. Barbossa reminds Feng that Jack is one of the Nine Pirate Lords and is still in possession of his Pieces of Eight. As Barbossa explains this, Feng notices that the tattoos on the back of one of the Chinese men are melting off, and assumes that the man is a spy for Barbossa's crew. He orders his men to draw their weapons and then grabs the man with the false tattoos.

Below the steam room, Joshamee Gibbs and the rest of the Black Pearls crew toss up swords to Barbossa and Elizabeth. Feng commands the two to drop their weapons, threatening to kill the man with the fake tatoos. Barbossa seems unconcerned saying "Well kill him- he's not our man." Will points out that if the man isn't with either party, then he's with someone else. Just as this is brought to everyones' attention the doors burst open and East India Trading Company troops march into bathhouse and open fire.

Feng joins in the fight against the EITC troops, and leads Barbossa and the others out through an exit. During the battle Feng and Will confront each other inside of a hut, with Mercer secretly looking on from the shadows. Will accuses Feng of desiring to make a deal with the East India Trading Company, and points out that he has nothing with which to bargain, so the two make a deal: Feng is to provide Will and the others with a ship and a crew, then after Jack and the Pearl have been rescued from the Locker Will will turn Jack and the other pirates over to Feng so that he may use them to bargain for his freedom with the East India Trading Company. In exchange, Will is to get the Black Pearl to help him in his quest to free his father. Feng agrees to the terms and provides Will with a ship and crew, then covers Will and the others' escape from Singapore.

Unbeknownst to Will, however, Feng makes his own deal with the East India Trading Company to turn all of the pirates, including Will, over to them in exchange for the Black Pearl and his own freedom.

After Jack and the Black Pearl are returned from the Locker, Will leads the group to the island at which he agreed to meet Feng at to make the exchange. Feng's men turn on Jack, Barbossa and the other crew members and capture them as Feng arrives in his ship, the Empress. Feng has a brief confrontation with Sparrow, then turns Sparrow's attention to Lord Cutler Beckett's approaching ship.

Feng hands Sparrow and the rest of the crew over to the East India Trading Company, but after he finds out that he won't be given the Pearl as agreed, Barbossa attempts to sway him back to their side by revealing his plan to release Calypso from her human form to help in the battle against the Company. Feng, mistaking Elizabeth for Calypso, agrees to help them escape in exchange for her. Seeing no other option, Elizabeth agrees and goes with Feng on his ship after he helps Jack, Barbossa, Will, and the rest of the crew escape from the Company.

As Feng's ship, the Empress, and the Black Pearl split up into different directions, Beckett orders that the Flying Dutchman follow Feng.

Elizabeth is dressed up and kept in Feng's quarters until he enters at night. He reveals his belief that she is Calypso, goddess of the sea, so Elizabeth decides to play along in order to extract as much information as possible. After an uncomfortable and tense discussion, Feng tries to kiss Elizabeth, but she pushes him away. As he steps forward to retaliate, he is suddenly struck by a cannonball that bursts through the ship's hull as the Flying Dutchman attacks and a large piece of wood impales him. Dying, Feng calls Elizabeth to his side and pronounces her his heir, the captain of the Empress, and gives her his Piece of Eight, telling her that she must take his place in the Brethren Court. Elizabeth agrees. With his last breath Feng whispers, "Forgive me - Calypso."

In the movie, Sao Feng spoke a part of a Chinese poem in Cantonese. That poem is the first four sentences of "關山月" ("Guan Shan Yue") by Li Po from Three Hundred Tang Poems.
